Ashley isn't racist. She's prejudice. I did romance with Ashley in ME1 and did change her views but her dialogue in ME2 at Horizon doesn't change. So don't waste your time. She's still prejudice. Bottom line is that nearly every squad mate is renegade in some way.
^^THIS.
Ashley doesn't have a superiority complex. She simply mistrusts alien races because of her lack of experience and understanding. That's a clear sign of prejudice.
The Illusive Man, on the other hand, clearly thinks of the aliens as lesser species. He would be racist.

I would agree with you that Ash seems to be prejudice except for one thing she says. "If you get attacked by a bear and the only way to escape is to sick your dog on it and run, that's what you do. No matter how much you love your dog, it's not human." She uses this to describe how she feels about aliens, which clearly indicates that she does place humans above other species, and is therefore a racist.
She's actually saying that aliens will sacrifice humans in favor of protecting their own - not the other way around.
Edit: Also... This video pretty much sums up her viewpoints and addresses the whole "racist" thing -

She is stating her point of view, all she is saying is she does not feel the utter need to defend anyone who ins't human.
She is not saying the dog is lower or better than her, is just it isn't like her.
You description of "racism" could be compared to "patriotism"....patriotism puts home country before others.... are they racists because they rather save themselves or a fellow countrymen than someone different?

Exactly.
In her analogy the "dog" is humanity, and the "human" represents alien species. Which is further elaborated later when she claims that "the council is treating Saren like it's our problem, they're already siccing us on the bear."

I agree. Taking into consideration the fact that several of Williams generations served the Alliance, she strikes me more of a patriotic person with prejudices than a racist.

It's the law of the jungle; everyone looks out for number one. Ashley sees it probably a lot clearer than some players do. Recognizing the state of reality does not make one racist. Turians are more important than humans to turians, asari are more important than humans to asari, it's just a fact.
Ashley isn't racist. She's another word that starts with R and ends with -ist: Realist.

Not exactly.
By his saying, a somewhat prejudice, paranoid, and isolationist's outlook. Is a lamentable realistic impression given the current state of turmoil the galaxy is in.
Ergo: It's not racism, but a concept derived from having a firm grasp on reality.
Racism 1: A belief that one race is predominanty superior than any other.
Realisim 1: A concern for fact or reality and rejction of the impractical.
Which one of these best describes Ash's views?

Hmm... How 'bout this?
Rasicm is a belief that one single race is better that any other race.
Realism is a concern that practical ideals will be ignored in favor of impractical ideals.
I'm not sure if I can make the explanations more clear than that. Sorry.
Note: Apologies for the punctuation mistake in my above post.

Then I go with racism. Ash is definetly racist towards "Vakarian & Wrex". What a b*tch. I don't regret frying her ass in Virmire. Kaiden is a way better person, he understands the galaxy better than anyone. His the one who deserves to live.
Her attitude toward Garrus and Wrex is bred out of a sense of "national security", not racism. The Normandy is a prototype Alliance vessel. And yes I know it was co-developed with Turians, but that doesn't change the fact that it's an Alliance vessel.
Giving a Krogan mercenary, and a trigger-happy ex-cop Turian free rein to examine the Normandy; in her mind is a big security risk. Something akin to allowing foriegn powers, to poke around a classified American prototype jet.
Her beliefs are based on a foundation of paranoid realism, not racism.

It is bred on racism. She blames the aliens in general for her grandfather's downfall. She is racist and uses the excuse of "security risk" to force Shepard into booting them out. She deslikes anything that doesn't have hair on it's head.
