...What spells did you use? I'm tired of throwing myself at the thing only to get my butt whooped, and don't want to go through Awakening unless I absolutely have to.

No Mage experience yet, but there is a respec book available IG; just wait until you gather the other two stat books first. This should help in selecting some DAA spells w/o having to play it.

I'm not worried about the spells; I'm worried about having to go through Awakening for experience, potions, and equipment.

I doubt it is needed. All my gear was from Origins; using this mod to bridge between DAO and DAA.

Alright. I'm running through with an Orlesian Mage. She's got the Mana Clash line (probably should have stopped at Spell Might), Crushing Prison line, and the Cold line, so we'll see how this goes.

Orlesian Wardens generated by GoA start at level 20.

Thanks! Good to know. Same starting gear as Awakenings?

I don't think so. Similar, but not identical. I'm working with the following:

Stave: The Dragon's Call

Head: Grey Warden Cowl

Hands: Elementalist's Grasp

Body: Grey Warden Robes

Feet: Magus War Boots

Belt: Andruil's Blessing

Amulet: The Spellward

Ring 1: Key to the City

Ring 2: Brother Bedine's Mnemonic

Brother Bedine's Mnemonic simply increases all Elemental damage by 10%.

**** this ****! I can't kill 6 golems no matter what I try! There's no ****ing way, because nothing works on all of them at once! I even tried laying down a Glyph of Repulsion and a Storm of the Century, and they walked right over the ****ing Glyph like the mother-****ing thing isn't even there!

Never mind. I forgot I can lower the difficulty until the final fight. I will have to restart though, just in case I need the respec tome later.

I beat it on nightmare with my lvl 35 mage (arcane warrior/blood mage). equipment basically set my dodge to like 75% so i get missed a lot.

first enchange cowl 10%

armor from leliana's song 15%

cailins boots 20%

spell ward 10%

arcane shield 25%??

my spellpower was like 230 or something ridiculus so with vuln hex, my stave was hitting for huge damage, I use staves with fire damage cause it hurts everything except rage demons. The staff from beneath vigils keeps does the most damage.

basically everyone died and I just stood there and pummuled him with staff damage and clicked on the switch to kill off the skeletons which were actually tougher than the harverter cause they hit a couple of them hit really hard!!

ENOUGH WITH THE 'LEVEL 35 WARDEN' ****! NOT EVERYONE HAS A FSCKING LEVEL 35 WARDEN OF EVERY FSCKING class! GIVE ME ADVICE FOR THE DAMN ORLESIAN WARDEN OR TELL ME THAT I'M FSCKED UNTIL I MAKE A LEVEL 35 WARDEN!

In the beginning of the battle use the switch.

hmm, your post seemed to be asking about mages in general, did not mean to make you feel worse. My advice would be to wear dodge items and drink potions when you get hit and try to kill of the skeletons with the switch, try to keep yourself and who ever does the most damage in your party alive if that isnt you.

good luck

When I say an Orlesian Warden, I mean one generated by Golems of Amgarrak. The only +Dodge items I have are the Mage's Running Boots and The Spellward, for a total of +20%. I didn't have the point to pick up the Fade Shield upgrade, so I don't have the 15% there. However, I'm running through the majority of the thing on Casual, so I've got an advantage their. I won't jack up to Hard until I actually take on the Harvester.

so ive been reading through some of these posts and from what i can tell anyone who hasnt got a level 35 char is having issues killing the harvester on anything harder then easy/normal difficulty added to that, people keep saying "use the switch" ive been trying this guy with a level 20 mage char (created at the start of the DLC) on hard mode, the only problem i find is after i kill him off in the first phase i get raped in the second because those skeletons are unkillable and the switch seems to just disappear, how the hell am i supposed to beat that phase if i cant do either :\\

u can beat her with a new DW dagger warrior warden, i did that but it was barely. just try not to use any potions before u fight her. and make sure to look in every little corner so u can get all the runes potions and poisons etc.

I don't doubt you can use such a Warden, but everyone here kept saying how easy it was with a Mage. I just tried it, and after roughly 20 minutes, I got the thing down to half health. Then I died because Skeletons kept spawning without the room turning red. I'd literally get one Arcane Bolt off, then I'd have to concentrate on running. Even then, I'd kill them with the next one, and more would immediately spawn.

The difficulty spike here is stupid. Whoever came up with it needs to be shot, drawn, and quartered. And not neccessarily in that order.

So you purchased a DLC that specifically says "This adventure is extremely challenging. Recommended for experienced players," and then start complaining when it gets difficult and willing pain on its creator?

Real classy...

My issue is this: I can stay away from him. I can stay away from his minions. I can even hit the switch. However, I soon hit a point where I cannot attack because as soon as I hit the switch, all the skeletons I just killed respawn, and I have to keep running away from the enemies I just killed. I've not gotten him below half health in his first form, and it's annoying.

The Final battle reminds me of the KOTOR gunner mini-game. In both you are told to go in circles while maintaining fire....

Personally, I pref the battles getting to the Thaig, as well as the Lil Song DLC encounters.

I think I'm going to go through Awakening after all. I have a solid strategy (stack Vulnerability Hex and Affliction Hex, then attack with my Stave's normal attack), but I lack the Combat Mana Regen to pull it off. I plan to create an Awakening Orlesian and plow through that. That will give me access to more items with Combat Mana Regen, items for my allies, experience, and access to the Manual of Focus, so I can turn my allies into half-way decent characters. I hope to have everything I need by about Level 25, when the Dace brothers can pick up the third level skill of the Specializations I have planned for them (Legionnaire Scout for Jerrik, Guardian for Brogan).

I didn't want to have to do this, but I actually don't feel annoyed, since I have a couple of goals to go for.
