I'm using a laptop with the ATI Mobility 5870 and the 10.7 drivers installed.  After I installed Kotor I noticed under the advanced graphics settings I can't enable AA or Soft Shadows, both options are dimmed out so to speak.

Anyone else experiencing this problem? Is there a way to correct it?

Did you download the latest patch? One of them enables soft shadows on ATI, don't know about anti-aliasing.

I'm using the digital download version. So I'm not sure if it needs patching or not. Will check.

So I've upgraded my video drivers to ATI 10.7a beta drivers. Seems to allow me to use Soft Shadows. However my AA is still forced off. I can force it at the driver level though. So I will just do that I think.

EDIT:

Also should note that manually changing the values for AA in the "swkotor.ini" file does not work either.  I've also had to run the game in Compatibility mode for Vista or XP to get the game to work, it crashes otherwise.  For some reason it boots me to desktop after the initial Lucas Arts splash screen, but once I alt-tab back in, everything is fine.
