BioWare is going to be bringing Dragon Age 2 to the Gamescom convention in Cologne (Koln) Germany August 19-22 2010. If you were considering attending Gamescom or are within travelling distance of the show, you need to attend so that you can experience Dragon Age 2.

Dragon Age 2 will be featured immediately besides the EA main stage where will will have a hands on playable demo on both the Xbox 360 and the PC. We're also going to be giving away our famous inflatable swords and we'll have more cool stuff as well (check the EA booth daily to see what we are up to).

Make sure you stop by the EA booth at Gamescom for your chance to play Dragon Age 2.

Can you please come to Hungary too? I am sure we can make up some gamecon if it is necessary just for an excuse

I want to know this too.  The trailer will have been released by gamescom, and they have to go public with some footage sometime.  Who knows how long that'll be though.

Unless the area the demos are in is all private, I'd imagine we'll get some gameplay footage out of Gamescom. Of course, maybe the trailer won't be a Blur CGI affair and instead is gameplay?

Blarg, I just got back from EU, damn my timing. Do things like this ever happen on the US east coast? If so I never hear about them. I nominate NY as a good place to hold an expo, just because I live there and it would be convenient.

Well, Koln is as good a place as any, if you live in *western* Europe...
Hey, at least they're getting out of 'murrika, for once.

I'm about 1000km from there, technically doable, but not worth the effort (and the price...) for me. Looking forward to hearing about it, though.

There are lots of cons on the East Coast. PAX East and the New York Comic Con off the top of my head. I'm more knowledgeable about West Coast and Chicago-area cons though.

There'll be a recording, one way or another. Still, if I saw a five-minute demo of DA:O, I'd just see an old-school RPG with some interesting combat and an outdated engine. The combat'll be the only thing we'll be able to get the measure of here.
