There are lots of cons on the East Coast. PAX East and the New York Comic Con off the top of my head. I'm more knowledgeable about West Coast and Chicago-area cons though.
It always seems like the best stuff happens on the wrong side of the country, though.

Given that the PC should still have a different UI (unless they changed that too), I don't think we need to worry about the ol' USB 360 controller.....yet.
As for Oblivion's combat though....I'll take Origins over Oblivion combat wise, any day of the week.
