No. People at Gamescom will be able to play the game. Not just watch cutscenes, or a presentation or whatever. They'll be able to play the game, control characters, cast spells, wave weapons, etc.

The reason we aren't letting fans film is there are a large number of press groups at Gamescom and all are wanting to show the gameplay at once. They will be talking about and showing the gameplay (afaik) later this week and they were promised the press would show before badly shot fan footage would be released.

To anyone at Bioware: Do you know yet if you are releasing a demo on Xbox Live or PSN at all before the release? Just curious. Must kill me more Darkspawn.

I'd suggest those going to Gamescom be followers of Dragon Age on Twitter. We are going to have some of our BioWare staff working at the DA2 booth and occasionally they will be tweeting for fans who want to jump the line and get in without waiting.

Now, I have no idea when this will be, how many people they'll let in, how often this will happen, but I htink it is worth following us on Twitter just in case.
