I really want to talk about this with the community, because its an itch which has been bugging me. Most game developers are given redicilous amounts of time limits on their projects. Now some are given a two year release and some are given up to 4 to 5 years of release, but the fact is the 2 year releases seem very unprofessional. The fact is during those development times certain small factors get cut from games which could have made even more of a difference on the game play and the characters stories. I can always understand a 3 to 4 year release date, but a 2 year date just seems way to short for a developer to really push a product out the door in great conditions. I will say ME 2 was a great game, but I think if it had a longer time table it could have some better moments than it did. They are pushing DA2 as well. I'm not saying the game isn't going to be good, but The time release for the game doesn't seem right. Halo: 2 and HAlo 3 were pushed as well, and the only thing I got from their campaign modes were crappy stories. I liked the multiplayer, but the game felt rushed. Even the campaign mode you could see it. The graphics might have been great, but the fact I could look at the environment in HAlo 3 and no that it felt blocked just made me feel like they didn't have enough time to bring the game levels to life more. IF you play Turok which game out at the same time. The environments felt more alive. The fact I could walk around the environments and when I moved through the grass it moved. In Halo:3 when I moved through the levels and through brush. It just stayed put. Now the new Halo reach has been in development long over 2 to 3 years and the game looks amazing. I think this title is really worth of praise. Now its not out yet and I'm still holding my breathe, but I have to say. They have a longer time to create the game and this is something I think is really going to give it a shine.
(Ok rules of this thread. Don't Bash EA or Bioware!) Keep this thread clean and keep the idea of Time lines for games involved. Otherwise you will probably face the wrath of (The Dooms!) a.k.a Moderators. Thank you and let the discussion begin.
