I'm wondering if there are any textures for the level editor in the core resources? I'm trying to figure out how to create a cliff, but it looks like I'd have to create a new texture myself. Is there a cliff texture file somewhere that I can associate with my "materials" for the level editor, so I don't need to make my own?

(Snow texture would also be nice to find, I'll need that one soon...)

Every exterior level starts with those four default textures, but there are about 20 or 30 others that come with the game. You can change the starting four, or add up to four new textures in every level. You do this by finding the palette for your level, which is under the terrain mesh on the list of all the things in your level (on the left side of your screen, unless you've moved it) and then clicking on a material to look at its object properties. Make sure you have the object inspector window open, and you'll see a bunch of different textures listed under the names diffuse, normal, and specular. Click on one and you'll be able to search for other textures. Type in "ter" as a prefix and all the other textures in the game will come up. You have to choose one to see what it looks like.

Ah, thanks. I had everything done up to the part with the "ter" prefix. I used the "trn" prefix of the default four, and got nothing new. Thanks, I'll try this...

Also, how many textures can one have in a single level file? Just the four?

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind.

Edit: Set status to solved, I think I understand the default textures and stuff now. Thanks for the help!

most importantly, check this out:

http://social.biowar...hp/Terrain_list

Beerfish, an awesome builder here on the social network, added those to the wiki I believe, and he also has a project up of downloadable versions of those screenshots in .pdf format, in addition to some spreadsheets which are incredibly useful.  For example, one has a short description of almost every animation in the game, so you can find cutscene animations without spending hours trying everything out.  I'd reccomend going to his projects on this site and getting everything.

have fun building!

and keep in mind after selecting your textures within the object inspector to play around with the uv tile value. else your textures will be way too big in size ;)

Did you have to necrobump to ask an uttterly irrelevant question?

If you can extract models and textures for the items, it is possible, try to allign it and resize it to match one from DA before exporting it from whatever modelling program you use. Faces... you'll have to try to make something similiar in the face morph editor.
