1 PC version and 1 360 version. Not sure which one to get CE though.

Propably. I'm lucky enough to own both PC and console, so even if the PC version turns out to be half-assed console port (which i still think is a pretty big "if"), i'll just buy it for my PS3 instead ^_^

Alas no such chance for Mass Effect.

Not I, I have no interest in it. I wanted an actual Dragon Age: Origins 2, not a Mass Effect meets Dragon Age hybrid. I want to make my own character again, not have one forced on me that I have no interest in.

I will be getting this day one, something I definately would not have said a few months ago considering I quickly grew bored with the first.

I'll be pre-ordering with release day delivery before retreating into my cavern of delights not to see the light of day for at least a week. Once the CE is announced, of course.

To each their own, I respect your enthusiasm for DA2, and I share some of it, but from my point of view, to preorder ANY game or buy it on release day without reading/watching enough reviews (not those biased "professional" reviews made by biased "professional" reviewers of course) or studying the community's initial reaction, you gotta have very low standards and/or too much money to spend recklessly.

I almost certainly will--if not on day-one then during week-one. I generally don't preorder, but I might make an exception if it continues to look awesome.

In the past, I've waited for reviews to be released before buying a game, but over the years I've discovered that no reviewer consistently shares my (rather eclectic, wildly varied) opinion, so for this one and several other upcoming releases I've decided to just go with my gut. The game store I shop at is amazingly friendly and nice, and they'll give me two weeks to return games if I'm not satisfied anyway, so. Impulse buys for the win!

Or it's Madden and the only officially licensed NFL game so we have no choice if we like NFL football games

EA knows how to monopolize a market and then monetize it and then DORITO-fy it

No I can't, I'd have to make a Human named Hawke. I want to make an Elf again.

Yeah, I'll definitly pick this up on release day, and almost definitly I'll be picking up the Collector's Edition (or similar version) with the extra pre-order stuff that hasn't been accounced, but I'm assuming will be eventually.

No, you are making a human with your choice of appearance, who has the last name of Hawke.

What did you choose as the last name of your elves in DA: Origins?

yes bit in origins as already said elsewhere the name in origins meant nothing. aside from Aeducan and Cousland there was if memory serves no references to them. To be constnatly called a name that bugs the hell out of me.... that might be a problem

Kotaku said it plays like Ninja Gaiden. You have to press a button just to auto-attack. A lot of the tactical RPG elements are being removed.

That's enough to guarantee I won't be picking it up on day one, if ever.

I don't care about the last name so much, I do care that I can't make a character I want to. That's what I really liked about Dragon Age: Origins, I could make an Elf, Dwarf or Human depending on what I wanted to play. I was hoping that the sequal would expand on that and open up some more origins/races for us, but no it takes a step backwards forcing a character on us. I'm fine with it in Mass Effect but I'm not at all happy with it in Dragon Age.

I agree with you on the race issue, for I feel it has the possibility of killing the replayability factor, but  they've stated they are differing the classes heavily, which could help. You did however mention the 'name' as a problem.
