wait, is that the official art?
...er how old is this guy supposed to be if he does end up being romanceable? his hair is all grey/white and that's a pretty deep widow's peek...
heres hoping his hair doesn't all fall out by the end of 10 years Dx
It's cropped but yes, it's official art. It's in the "What we know" thread if you're interested.
No idea how old he is. I'm guessing this is more towards the end of that 10 year span anyway, but his hair looks brown in that other concept art. It could be partially the lighting in there. But yeah, he looks older...though a lot of ladies here seem to want an older LI.
I always wanted a protagonist that is in his 50s. I think a lot of games make you too young. Just saying...
Well it's not that I wouldn't mind an older LI, but I tend to play characters around the same age as me - earlier 20's. The thought of having an LI that's 30+ years older than me bothers me. =/ Now my own parents are 20 years apart age wise in their marriage and they've been together 28 years, and counting. I can do 20, but 30 is where I draw the line. Besides I've also had men in their 50's hit on me. Sobber. Yeah, I would really hate to make that connection with games, even if it is just an option. It's creepy! They have CHILDREN that are OLDER than me. Possibly even grandchildren (though those would not me older than me.....hopefully)!
Now that would just be awkward as well, getting your grove on with an LI only to have one of their kids pop up at the most inoppertune moment...oh and by the way they are also the same age/older than you.
I mean, more options are great, but that would definately up the creepy/weird factor for me. I couldn't do that, ever. Not even for an achievement. Ok, so maybe if he was REALLY REALLY good looking, because I'm a terrible, shallow person, but I'd have to think about it really hard.
But then there's the fact that he's a dwarf, and even the well written ones like Gorim I have a hard time taking seriously unless I play a dwarf myself. I can't really take a guy seriously as an LI if I can't see eyeball to eyeball with them. Probably from all those overly dramatic romantic films from the 40's and 50's. If a man is only 3ft tall, how can he catch you when you fall? Or carrying you off into the sunset? How will your head fit in his lap when you need to rest? How can he scale the walls to your room with the balcony when his running jump barely gets him a foot off the ground? But joking aside, it would make for more of a comedic, cute romance I think. There was a really a good anime I watched called Love*Com that delt with that issue, only the difference between the male an female was 6 inches. Outside of that I suppose I would just have to wait and see what as instore for us.
