I'm getting the feeling he's more like Arl Eamon - important to the story, has close knowledge of Hawke but is not a partymember.

Could be. He seems about 500x cooler than Eamon though. I think a lot of us would like to get to know him better. Because he is awesome.

So that's why my bed refuses to talk with me.
That's it, I'm killing Varric when I get the chance. Although the plot wouldn't make sense anymore, paradox is my middle name.
