I just can't get interested in a dwarf romance. Hated the Deep Roads, got a headache whenever it was Orzammar time (I am anti-caves) and I didn't find any of them attractive. (The bodies mostly. What was it with the overly long arms for females that was nearly chimp-like?) Have to say this Varric dude is by far the most attractive dwarf DA has produced. Still my reaction to dwarves in general is either meh or ewwww. (The latter to Oghren mostly).

The truth is, I'm actually Varric's uncle. My family had taken me to the surface but died by bandits, some humans found me and raised me with a human name that doesn't fit the dwarves at all but I'm used to it. I went back home and some dwarves introduced me to my brother, Varric was this cute little baby with loads of chest hair.

I'm getting the feeling he's more like Arl Eamon - important to the story, has close knowledge of Hawke but is not a partymember.

I think it was stated that he traveled with Hawke before, how else does he know this kind of information then?

He learned it from Hawke and partymembers He wasn't there in Lothering but is teling that part of the story also. If he's a partymember he would have to be the kind you don't have the option to kill or simply not recruit, which is possible but he can play an important role in the story and doesn't have to be a partymember.

The bodies are actually my favorite part. I'm quite tall, so the whole "short man" thing has a certain allure, I suppose. Then again, I found Gorim, Prince Bhelen, and Oghren attractive (in very different ways, mind you). I guess you could say I'm no more than an avid collector of dwarven booty.

Plus, I mean, look at him! He looks so suave and delicious. Hm, yes, do want.

Varric's beard was just way too awesome for him to keep it. It could even act like a third arm and hand, just like that one bearded dude in that Skittles commercial.

It later wrote a good bye letter to Varric and went to look for its best friend, Duncan's beard, since it didn't hear from it for a while.

Anyway, Varric does look really cool in that concept art; hope to see/hear him on the 17th.
