Varric's beard was just way too awesome for him to keep it. It could even act like a third arm and hand, just like that one bearded dude in that Skittles commercial.
It later wrote a good bye letter to Varric and went to look for its best friend, Duncan's beard, since it didn't hear from it for a while.
Anyway, Varric does look really cool in that concept art; hope to see/hear him on the 17th.

He was like Bayonetta with that beard. It was way OP.

Sten and Varric have... minor issues getting along.

Sten: You know they're going to declare you're a cat-girl, don't you?

Varric: I can't blame them, really. I do look sexy with the ears.

This just made me envision a Varric body pillow with him making a "Nyaa~" pose.

That sounds like something that's begging to be drawn.

Thankfully for you guis, it's waaaaaaaay past my bedtime, so no visualizations from me...yet.

Oh lawd, I would laugh forever.

Ironic considering how Duncan's beard fused with Hawke's beard. Varric's beard would've met his friend if it didn't leave.

I hope Varric's in game model can keep his look as close to the concept Varric as possible.

I hope so too. I like that rendering quite a lot.

That manly chest is just begging to be set as everyone's default avatar after signing up.

Eh? Are you sure the average PC or even the PS3/Xbox360 can take that much awesome? I think there's going to be a flood of complaints in the technical forums involving computers/consoles crashing and getting filled with manly chest hair.

Actually... I forget if he's currently sitting on the stone throne when he's narrating. I think he is. He at least occasionally has a cup in his hands, mostly for the sake of having something to toy with while looking smug. Nobody understands the importance of dramatic effect like your dwarven storytellers.

Varric:
Pros: Party member, can 1 hit kill, infinite stamina
Cons: Rides around on a stone parade float drawn by mabari, must have constant wine supply. Frequently blocks the camera and your party members' passage.

Of course, his agent had certain demands before he agreed to let Bioware cast Varric in DA2. A portable throne and almost constant refills of his goblet were no doubt just two of many. With chest hair like his, he doesn't come cheap.

Shows what you know! Varric has the special ability Summon Bartender which he can use once every 30 minutes. No matter where he is, whether in the deepest recesses of the Deep Roads or in the middle of the Kirkwall market place, he can instantly have a glass of wine handed to him, bypassing all rules of supply and demand, physics, or hours of tavern operation.

I hope that when we first meet him that we find him sitting on the ground, breathing heavily with a bloodied sword in hand and next to him are a pair of pants.

If DG has said he would like to write a Dwarf romance (and why not?)

Because ewww, that's why not. Image IPB

Seriously, what? :?

Was the attitude similar when you decided to remove the non-human races as a choice? Did you people just say "ewww" and ignored it that others would want it?

Hmmm Varric seems to be your especial favorite, like Sten was in Origins. Is Sten jealous? Does he like his new look?

Sten and Varric have... minor issues getting along.

Sten: You know they're going to declare you're a cat-girl, don't you?

Varric: I can't blame them, really. I do look sexy with the ears.

Sten: ...You encourage them?

Varric: Stretch, Stretch... I just like to get people talking. Makes everything more fun, you know?

Sten: Parshaara. Where did that writer leave the cookies?

The sheer AMOUNT of chest hair on Varric makes me feel weak and puny in comparison . . .
