Varric:
Pros: Party member, can 1 hit kill, infinite stamina
Cons: Rides around on a stone parade float drawn by mabari, must have constant wine supply. Frequently blocks the camera and your party members' passage.

Shows what you know! Varric has the special ability Summon Bartender which he can use once every 30 minutes. No matter where he is, whether in the deepest recesses of the Deep Roads or in the middle of the Kirkwall market place, he can instantly have a glass of wine handed to him, bypassing all rules of supply and demand, physics, or hours of tavern operation.

Wait, here's something I don't understand.

Is Varric a surface dwarf who struck big? (becoming a whealty merchant, or some lord in the Free Marches)

Or is he a Dwarven Noble who joined Hawke and was later found by her.

Anyway, even from this piece of concept art you can see he carries himself like a noble.

If DG has said he would like to write a Dwarf romance (and why not?)

Because ewww, that's why not. Image IPB

Seriously, what? :?

Was the attitude similar when you decided to remove the non-human races as a choice? Did you people just say "ewww" and ignored it that others would want it?

Now, I don't know him or anything but it seems to me that DG is frequently less than serious. You know, just a hunch I have.

I bet Oghren wishes he had that. He always has alchohol and gets drunk but he has to.... wait... how does Oghren constantly get drunk when they've been on the road for a long period of time? You don't think he...... no..... can't be that..... can it?
Err... back to the Varric, who even Austin Powers is envious of!

Completely understandable. My sarcasm detector is finely tuned. (plus, native English speaker and all that). You just relax and go make your coffee.

Varric was born in Kirkwall. His family was noble before they became skyers. He is, therefore, a merchant prince among the surface dwarves. And that's probably all I can tell you about him for now.

He does look remarkably like his concept at the moment.

He makes his own and his pack has nothing but booze in it. But yes I imagine he's insanely jealous of Varric's ability. Or he would be, if he even knew what day it was. I think he's passed out somewhere over there.

That sounds great!
So does Varric plan to go back to Orzammar?
Or can't he because his family was banned?

If thats the case he probably has to become a Paragon...
Helping a dwarf become Paragon, now that sounds interesting!

How could this happen? He just became EVEN MORE AWESOME. :o I'm really trying to avoid putting a bit of Jack Sparrow into my mental image of him now. Trying and failing.

On the other hand he might end up being like Captain Shakespeare from Stardust.
