The azer is a dwarf-like outsider in the Dungeons & Dragons fantasy role-playing game. In the 3rd edition of the game, azers originate on the Elemental Plane of Fire.

A bit like Zev yeah, but with less dark past and Spanish accent. Maybe the reason Varric has never had a serious partner before is because he's been bored by all the men and/or women throwing themselves at him and you're the only one ever to make him work for it? I don't know. Or maybe he has a dead wife. *nudges Saibh*

Is it just me or do people who play dwarves and hobbits and things in videogames tend to be really cool people? I'm not one myself (I think I might not be cool *enough*). I base this on years of MMO playing and these forums.

Well, I don't think anyone is talking about real people with dwarfism when they talk about fantasy dwarves.
