Any advice on the animation numbers for an animated light for a fireplace fire?
Oh, and on a sidenote, does anyone now where the fireplace log model(s) are in the models section? I can't find them anywhere, and I lnpw they must exist. I ended up doing an ugly hack of partially burying a firepit in the base of the fireplace.

prp_lrglogs_0 might be the model you're after. I find an effect like fxe_fire_l_ns_p is sufficient for my purposes without an additional light, so I'm afraid I don't know the animation numbers.

Oh. I didn't realize that it would provide actual light! It won't cast shadows, though, will it? I'll have a look at that your suggestions, thanks!

an animated light with these settings will do the job:

frequenzy max: 18

frequenzy min: 13

intensity max: 1.2

intensity min: 0.6

Hi there, I'm not able to see the fire models in the level builder. For example, when I select 'fxe_fire_small_p', the cross hair displays as though the object is placeable but I don't see anything. However, if I try and place a normal object (like a tower) it displays fine.

Is there a problem with my settings perhaps?

Many times with the level editor the prop you are trying to place is under the ground, floating way up in the air, or off the screen somewhere. I find it helps when you have "enable snap to surface" enabled under the snap options, but even then sometimes you just need to place it somewhere, then click on it from the terrain world list, and move it somewhere where you can see it better. Also, with VFXs, have the enable/disable render refreshing button activated. It is the button that looks like a triangle on the side, like a play button.
