I hope they space the dlc out a bit better rather than release everything at launch or soon after as with Origins, then wait a while and put out stand-alone dlc that has little to no effect on the main game.

I thought the armor and shale were good for release dlc's....so something like that would be nice :)

Is getting Awakenings worth it? I heard it transfers over

Awakening is basically an expansion pack.
DLC is just drips of crap for easy money for the most part, cheaper to make and when added up, more profitable than an expansion.

What's so bad about them wanting to combat re-sales?

Making money is clearly evil?

Either that or Rubbish Hero has a daily bitterness quota to achieve. I can't decide.

How do you decide regarding two distinct personalities?

You know, I can at least understand "games should be about art, not money", but I just can't GET "companies should not even try to make money".

Basically an expansion pack?  Isn't that exactly what it is?

Then again, I shouldn't be shocked that you somehow found a way to complain about the basic definition of something.

I was being sarcastic.

No, I know. I was just venting my frustration over the idea you were mocking.

I never said it was, I just answered the question.
That's why it's there, EA and Bioware don't get a dime from gamestop.

This board is filled with GameStop managers. They're very sneaky and can infiltrate forums with great ease.

While the contempt towards my excellent objectivity is understandable, it is juvenile.

I really hope there are some DLCs on release day or shortly thereafter. I liked Stone Prisoner and Return to Ostagar because they felt like they belonged with the game. They featured the main characters with dialogue and everything. They actually advanced the story. I think coming out on release was a big part of that (the voice actors being available, for one).

The other DLCs have been fine, but it all feels sort of...inconsequential. Like whether it happened or not, it doesn't affect anything. On one hand, it makes sense, because being a DLC, not everyone will play it. But that doesn't mean the things that happen there can't have real effects. They feel like even if they did happen, it was in an alternate universe that has no bearing whatsoever on the "real world."

I buy dlc to support future main games like da rtp and xp
I don't expect the quality of Prisoner In Stone to
repeat or anything
- so in a way each dlc is more or less a tad of a positive surprise for me ;)

I've even bought 2 dlc for me2 though 'I'll never buy me2 itself for that reason.

Forgive me though if I pass on the

You're going to tell me that this wasn't a jab at BioWare?

Up next: Pay for patches!

... you know, somebody ought to try that one of these days and see how well that fares.
