i dont call BS>. but they are using a lot of tactics that are basically AI exploits.. the AI isnt all that intelligent that it cant be tricked. things like using high range and picking off one mob member at a time while the rest dont agro you.. or cloaking and hanging out for 5 mins while your health regens back up to continue.

it can be done, but if ya ask me playing this way and duping AI is pretty boring.

In RL, that would be called sniping, and utilizing cover and concealment.

Personally, I do not believe using extreme range shots are explotive; only good use of tactics. Now sneaking into a hot zone with your party on hold, then warping/teleporting them next to you and killing the enemy as they beginj to emerge is questionable (discovered this one by accident while scouting).

well in real life, when your sitting there,, and someone is getting sniped you dont sit there like a bump on the log and watch the whole group go down one by one..

Your out of range of the AI's reaction, kinda exploited if ya ask me.  But hey if people wanna play this way and its fun to them more power to um..  Just like if they wanna carry 300 potions.

the point is, even normal can be a huge challenge when you set up party differently, dont use potions, use different party builds..  they can be way harder than playing on nightmare..

heres a challenge..    lil, zevran, you a rouge, morigan..   keep the part together, in every battle, no running, morgian no heals, and dont use any heal potions..    try not to let anyone ever drop..   not as easy as you might think, even on normal.

do you guys really beleive it when people claim they have soloed the game on nightmare etc? i think they're full of ****. even on normal, one on one, one enemy will take out at least a quarter of your life. how is it possible that they take on an entire mob? even if you lure one guy away, you don't recover life since you're still in battle. you can only do that four times before you die.

It is not only possible it is actually easier than you think.  All you need are a few things:
1.  Enough time and inclination to do everything the long way (i.e. not charging in guns blazing, making use of poisons, potions, salves, traps etc.)  And don't forget the ability to reload a save game.

2.  Understanding of the game.  By this I simply mean you have played it enough times that you know what's around each corner, you know where to get the most gold and best equipment, and you know where to go to avoid difficult encounters until you are strong enough.  Knowing some AI exploits make it easier (not cheat codes as such, but thing that would not really work if "it were real" - like the spot where you can stand to kill the high dragon without it being able to hit you) - these are not essential to success though (you do not have to fight the high dragon, for example).

3.  Knowing your character and how to build it.  Some characters are probably easier for soloing, like an Arcane Warrior, a high dex rogue with stealth, a two-handed warrior.  But I suspect you can solo nightmare with almost any build given enough patience.

This game really does get massively easier once you have played it a while.  Some encounters that were almost impossible for me are total cakewalks now.  I do not play solo but quite frankly I do not see how many encounters would be all that more difficult if I did.  After all, only so many enemies can get at you in melee and it is easier to keep one character away from archers/mages than four.  Plus that one character would be tougher because all gold would be spent on equipping it.

dex stacking dual wield dagger warrior with stacked spell resist = the closest to legit godmode in this game. You can literally walk into swarms of enemies and kill them all and still be at 100% hp. The only issue I have is overwhelm, but unlike rogue you always have enough HP/armor to live through them.

When I saw this thread I started soloing the game on nightmare difficulty WITHOUT potions (excepts few injury kits on the injuries that Carta members cause) and the parts I've soloed by far are: ostagar, all DLCs, Brecilian forest (+ all the sidequests), Redcliffe( + all the sidequests) , mage's tower (+ all the side quests) orzammar (+ all the side quests) and I've completed all but the bartender sidequests and blackstone sidequests in game.

I will provide you with the high dragon solo WITHOUT potions if it's possible, as soon as I get there.

Well I'm arcane warrior / blood mage (not really using the blood part) wearing staff of the magister lords, cailan's armor set.. spells that I mainly use are heal, fireball, arcane bolt, paralyze, arcane shield, rock armor and some other spells. It's really going fine

oh and mana clash (makes like 75 % of the game really easy ) and miasma (allows me to kite almost everything)
