Just look at the squad continuation from ME1 to ME2, only the characters that had 0 chance of dying showed up as companions. (Liara was kept out as she is being saved for ME3, implying that since everyone can die in ME2 they will not be returning)

I liked Oghren. I like that they took the comic sidekick in Origins and turned him into the game's most tragic character in Awakenings. A lot of folks get confused by this switch. That and he offends female players and their delicate middle class sensibilities with his crassness.

If Oghren shows up in DA2, I think I'll be a lot more forgiving of his character than I was in Awakening, primarily because it'll involve 2 different people this time around. IMO Oghren-Warden interaction in Awakening was hideous.

I thought Oghren was amusing sometimes, annoying others. I did think he was a little too over-the-top crude in Awakening.

Having said that, he's pretty much at the bottom of the list of companions I'd like to see in DA2, but it's not because I don't like him (in fact, I don't dislike any of the companions). It's just the simple fact that he already got to make a return appearance, as a full-fledged companion, once already. I'd much prefer to see other characters who haven't appeared since Origins, or characters that only appeared in Awakening. Or Alistair/Wynne, since they were only possible cameos.

Basically, Oghren having a large part in Awakening moved him to the back of the line for me.

I dispelled this already, on the first page.  He can die in Awakening.  The only companion who couldn't possibly be killed in either game is Morrigan.*

PS:  I would also prefer an entirely new cast of companions.

*Okay, Velanna leaves no body, and Justice was a spirit who might still exist in some form.

I agree, he didn't seem as "jokey" as he was in the first game.  There was something off about him.  And it didn't help that he started with zero approval no matter what your previous relationship was like. :-/

Difference, relationship Lord of Rings, Aragon, Legolas, Gimili. Misfit three musketeer, work.
Dragon Age, Gimili, no relationship, big stupid head booted out. Return because Bioware know players dislike, discourage Expansion packs, buy DLC.

Get your broken english ass out of here, Oghren was NOT placed into Awakening due to the fact some players disliked him.

He was placed into Awakening because they wanted a connecting companion and Oghren was the only one that fit the bill, besides Morrigan with her god baby, due to the fact he would be alive in all files.

They also placed him in because he is a FAVORITE of the DEVELOPMENT team as well as the fact he is voiced by one of Bioware's favorite actors.

If people would just give Oghren a CHANCE they would see WHY Bioware appreciates him.

Remove Episode 2/3, 10 second only seen. Connect turd bad.

Superior character, very much likeable, no turd, hardly screentime.
