I got this game from Steam 3 days ago and the first day it worked perfectly. The second day got the crash after LucasArt intro, but it was fixed after restarting my computer, but nothing seems to work today. Seems like out of 50 tries I'm able to get to the main menu but the mouse isn't working there (i can move it but i can't press). If i try to exit trough ctrl+alt+del i get a message asking me if I'm sure i want to exit and from here I'm able to navigate the menu with the arrows (but i can't do anything after i load).
And the disable vertex buffer was already on =1.
Also, i have heard that there is a lot of problems with ATI cards (i have 5700 HD).
Any help would be appreciated

I found that if you disable video's, the game will launch just fine. Its really weird, because I had exactly the same bugs as you.

The video aspect is a codec incompatibility. ATI doesn't make any "HD 5700" video graphics adapter. There are 5750, and 5770 numbered cards, but the only actual 5700 ever used in a GPU's name was the mostly horrible Geforce FX 5700 (of which, only the "Ultra" was worth having). There is a major difference between an HD 5750 and the HD 5770.
The cards themselves are perfectly capable of running this game. It is video DRIVER problems that stymie the owners of late model Radeons.
