All of your arguments are moot anyway. Consoles ARE PC's...they just have proprietary operating systems. You can take your PC, move it to your entertainment center, plug in a wireless 360 controller and play it as if it was a console on your TV.

I am not sure I understand the problem? The only three differences, technically, are the type of games released, the emphasis on controllers over mouse/keyboard control, and, the cost to maintain the PC system (i.e. actual cost of components and the intelligence cost of the user to keep them updated).

Because a PC can use a controller as well as a keyboard/mouse, I would view it as superior. The only reason I would shy away from it is if you can't afford or aren't smart enough to maintain a decently running PC (not a dig at anyone).

PC for me. Consoles just don't do anything for me. Their best handles like a crappy PC from 2006. Personal preference though, your milage may vary, etc [insert soothing platitude of your choice here].

They have 104 buttons and operate at a desk? Are completely open and not governed stringently by Microsoft or Sony?

You're missing a big difference.  The console operating system gives you far less control over how your hardware and software behave.  For example, If you're playing on a PC, and you decide to run your display at a non-native resolution because it both speeds up framerate and acts as a sort of ghetto-anti-aliasing, you can do that.  But you have no such option on a console - it only outputs one screen resolution and there's nothing you can do about it.

there are innumerable similar examples.  A PC gives the user far more control over his experience.  This could be why roleplayers prefer the PC.

Well, if you ask the Linux types, your answer might be a little different than expected

Side note: I'd vote for PC, just because having to do the Fade over and over and over again without the Skip the Fade mod, would be utter torture.  That, and controllers have too many buttons for a doofus like me to memorize by touch :D

They don't own them, no, but they are the retail publisher. Simple mistake.

I play Mass Effect in Bootcamp, haha. Hell, I partioned my HD and installed Windows 7 for that game(s). Later, it came in handy for classes. xD

Hey, could've been worse. I could've obliterated you instead.

But you don't exist, thus my laz0r beam wouldn't have hit you.

Mmmmm... no matter!

*shrugs* I played the first game for console, and enjoyed it immensely, despite it's flaws (most of the major bugs I was lucky enough not to run into). If they're making a quality product for both systems in the case of DA II, then whatever you want is the order of the day.

If you have a good enough PC and like playing on that, get it for PC. If your PC isn't powerful enough to run it, or you simply prefer games on Consoles, get it for a console instead : ) The gameplay may be a little different to suit the native system, but the storyline will remain unchanged.

Typing, no.  Gaming, yes, definitely.  I'm probably the only person in the forums who almost solely uses a mouse to navigate Dragon Age.

Well, that was entertaining, even if I'm one of the heretics.

I never knew the Fuhrer felt that way about Varric. Wouldn't have pegged him for a Positivity Thread person either.

History is written by the victors.

While he might've done horrible things, he was still a cheery person who just wanted to be held.

I do this too. Can't get the hang of using keyboards for gaming, despite playing games on PC since 1990 something.
