I'm soloing BG1 with a dwarven berserker (I wanted grand mastery), to import it later to BG2. It's actually easier than I expected. Started on core D&D, now moved up to hardesr difficulty. Double monster damage really doesn't change much, because I rarely get hit. Also I've plenty of money for potions since I can sell all the awesome gear that would otherwise be used by party members. The only lame thing is that ending the rage on hardest means you take 30 damage instead of 15 =)
