I think you are very right!!! I would love to have a prequel (besides the books). He started off just as messed up as the PC does in some of the origins.

I was just reading a thread about "WHYWHY" did Duncan die and I think that it's important that such a *good* character DID die so that we get the weight of this universe, but still... he was super cool.

Also I'd like to see more of the transformation between the Calling!Duncan and Origins!Duncan. He was so fiery in the Calling and then so chill in Origins. tired, maybe?

I wonder how much of Duncan's behavior in Origins has to do with the fact that he expects to die.  It would probably be his responsibility to kill the Archdemon, if it had shown up at Ostagar.

Well like Ridorian (SP) says it is up to the oldest Warden to slay the AD. So I am sure there was some anticipation.

wow! you guys are right, I didn't think of that at first. that would explain the bit of melancholy you can see about his character. well, not melancholy, but.. somberness?



also, I don't know if it's canon or just speculation, but wasn't he getting his Calling?

We don't know how long the Calling would last. Weeks, months, years...

even if the call last years, can you imagine beginning to get the call? it's like, "here's a timer, better die before that thing runs out."

Oh absolutely.  I think that is what Ridorian was referring to also.  I believe that Duncan hoped to end it right there in Ostergar with the AD.  With the nightmares returning and no idea how long the calling lasts (you would think it would be different for everyone) he was nearing the end.  Yeah you only get a glimpse into his character but he was so much deeper then that.

I am sure someone stripped him thinking that they would not get his armor if they didn't or they just wanted a naked Ritual...Either way....

Naked ritual is pretty kinky. Maybe something happened after my PC blacked out? I still wonder why my PC always lacks gloves when she's ready to drink. It's the little things that bother me now.

Yeah, I didn't know I would get his stuff, at the time. Need to gather as much loot as possible.

Edit: On a more Duncan note, I always found this to be the most creepy yet kinda funny screenshot I have taken of him.
