Its going to be a CGI. Its better to keep the possible stupid backlash down by having the real game under wraps as long as possible.

maybe it's like the trailer of riordan agaisnt the archdemon, showing a few action in-game cutscenes snip-bits while playing dragon age music.

I wouldn't mind a CGI trailer. I very much enjoyed the Sacred Ashes and Warden's Calling trailers. Mind you, I don't think that should be their very first trailer, of course. But, I do eventually want one.
Even a cinematic trailer using the game's engine would be nice, I think. Ideally though some insight into the new dialogue system and combat would be great, though.

That would be way funny. Hawke bursts though the door, with the use of the motion controls, picks up a potential companion, male or female doesn't matter, and kisses them passionately while their bodice rips open! Or it could be Varric. Whatever works.

Seems I woke up just in time. 
Edit: I'm far too excited for just the first trailer. Even if it is CGI then my disappointment will only last a second before I get drawn in by the awesomness. This will happen even faster if the CGI trailer features Varric in any way shape or form.
