So, it seems that EA is holding their Gamescom press conference on the 17th , which is the sam day the DA2 trailer is supposed to hit. Maybe a good idea to watch the EA conference then?

It supposedly starts at 4PM CET and can be viewed here:
http://www.ea.com/ga...ideo-stream/154

Or here:
http://pc.ign.com/ar.../1112456p1.html

I am time zone challenged, but 4PM CET translates to 10AM EST or 7AM PST, correct?

Varric voiced by Mark Meer, please.

Also violence. And sex. And sexy violence. And violent sex.

Lots of swords and spells. Definitely needs swords and spells.

No heavy metal. I want some dissonance. A childrens song, perchance? A happy optimistic song while heads are getting caved and children are getting skewered as the hordes of darkness sweep across the blasted blood-drenched landscape seeking new thralls to add to their breeding farms.

Hawke then gives an epic speech about fighting for the marches or lost or some such, and he assembles an elite team of misfits and weirdos to go on a suicide mission to liberate Kirkwall from the purple futa people breeders and their hordes of bloodthirsty mercenaries and slaves. Lots of killing ensues

Varric and Cassandra - no, make that only Varric. Also, Hawke's voice and a bunch of companions. Boobs, as always, are not strictly required but still welcome.

They have to make the movie look good so people would buy the game they will only put up the computer generated clips up, like they do for the dlc although I kinda want to see what they come up with and seeing how our new player can talk now is not to shaby

Am I the only one here who found the Sacred Ashes trailer cheesy beyond all reason and not epic at all? It felt like The Theme Park Version of the actual game.

Anyway, I'm not sure what would be worse - a 1 minute teaser that only shows us a plain littered with corpses or something like that with ominous music, or a 3 minute gore-fest peppered with sex scenes and idiotic slogans ("Fight like a spartan"? Seriously?) and heavy metal playing in the background.

I'm afraid we'll get one of the two above- poor Bioware does need to create a little hype among the masses after all, you can't really blame them for giving us silly trailers.

I expect the epicness to arrive in the months to come- I trust we will be given a guitar-solo-playingly awesome and more fan-centric trailer a la Fight For The Lost, with jaw-dropping music, battles, companions doing crazy stuff, rousing speeches and boobs. I have faith in you, Bioware.

Because it was humorously bad?

Its just my impression that what BioWare is actually trying to do with DA2 is make the actual gameplay more like what you had in the Sacred Ashes trailer. You had plenty of Bros who saw the Sacred Ashes trailer went "KEWL!", bought Origins only to be disappointed that Leliana wasn't half naked doing flips or MOrrigan wasn't doing cartwheels while transforming into a spider.

BioWare seeks to "amp up" DA2- so at least in the over the top "exaggerations" that Varric tells, I'm guessing the actual game will be more like the Sacred Ashes trailer....

If they can offter a CGI Trailer with the same emotions and quality like the Old Republic trailer then I'd happy with it :)

Gameplay videos will come out anyway...but Trailers like that a rare...always like it to see one more of em for a game series I like.

The problem with the Blur CGI trailers is that they're ultimately worthless. They are a pure marketing tool to get you hyped up for the game...even when there is a 95% chance the actual game will look or play absolutely nothing like the trailer.
Show me a trailer comprised of amazing in game footage and then I'll actually get excited and motivated to buy the game, as you're actually seeing footage from the game itself. I can only imagine how many people have been disappointed by TOR after seeing the Blur trailers- they're nice and fancy but have zero bearing on the game itself you'd be buying.

The ME2 launch trailer was better than any Blur trailer IMO, as it was from in game assets and stil managed to be amazingly cool.

Hey, I'd be more than glad if the DA2 combat resembles the Sacred Ashes trailer, because the fight there was objectively awesome. The DAO combat got boring beyond all reason after the first playthrough. What irked me in the trailer was the characters' behavior, they felt horrendously shallow and more fit for a B-movie than an RPG.

I hope they erase feats like in mass effect (Mass effect with Swords awsome) Cause the combat in DA was ****, in a bad way.

I'm hoping for a little clip of Cassandra and Varric, maybe introducing the idea of an unreliable narrator to those who haven't been keeping up to snuff on the info. Maybe a shot of Lothering, Kirkwall, a few other locations we might be seeing.

Epicness.

And this.

Sorry to get off topic, but dont you not like that idea of a unreliable narrator? I mean then it would take away CHOICE from the player.

... Not necessarily. I like the idea of an unreliable narrator because it spruces up gameplay, as people have mentioned about the demo. Considering they'll be telling Cassandra about what Hawke did and not telling Hawke what to do, the narrator takes away none of your choices.

Nonsense, it won't spruce up gameplay - it's a device to help Bioware in their progressive goal to become film makers where the audience occasionally presses a few buttons, rather than game makers.

Varic's story will change with your choices. There's no taking away choice.

Think Alpha Protocol, it had a framed narrative, but you still chose what happened, even though the whole story wasn't told in the re-telling

If you go w/ BW's record, trailer will be cinematic and have little or nothing to do w/ the actual game.
