So, I've been having problems with my new EVGA Nvidia GTX
465. What I'm getting is polygons popping in and out, flashing black, or
showing through other polygons for brief moments. I play plenty of other game's
on the card and have no problems. (Or, at least not THIS problem. To game is
bug free!
either one of overheating or an incompatible driver. My GPU usually idles at
about 40°c and runs at around 75°c on a full load at my usual overclock
settings. And I'm using driver V258.96. And just to erase and doubts about the
rest of my system, here are my specs. (Let me know if you need anything else.)
Windows Vista Home Premium 32 Bit
Intel Quad Core 2.4ghz
4GB System Ram
I have run some tests. The most conclusive was one where I undercloced the card
and set its fan to max. (Darn, is this thing LOUD at max speed!) The GPU never
passed 49°c, but, while there were minimized, the artifacts where still
there... Turning down the graphics settings has a similar effect. I also tried
running an older version of my card drivers, but the only effect that had was
to decrease my frame rates. (Although, I'll be honest and say that the version
I ran wasn't all that much older, but since there was no effect at all on the
artifacts, I don't feel that drivers are the solution.)
So, it's pretty plain to see that there's a heating issue, but here's my
question; is this caused by a manufacturer's defect or is i something that
users of this card just have to deal with? Have other DA:O players using this
card had this problem? I only recently bought the card, so if there is a
problem, I'd like to figure it out before my return policy runs out.
Thanks for any help you guys can give here!
