do you think I'll be able to survive the final battle with the ULTIMATE EVIL THREATENING THEDAS if I don't get all of the campfire upgrades?

Reminder: NO ULTIMATE EVIL!
That's what I'm looking forward to in DA2, not being forced to do the same joining ritual to face the same archdemon at the end every time!

You're right.  You don't fight the ultimate evil, you just single-handedly change the entire course of history of Thedas.

Man, how could I even insinuate that it was just going to be another Bioware B-movie plot, when clearly it's going to be vastly different.

I´m not so sure. Only 2 OG left anyway.

About inventory, am I the only one who didn´t like the tier system? It´s like in ME1, just item scaling rather than a variety in items (which also was present in DA). Item clasifying system could also be improved.

5 down, 2 to go!

Unless of course you did the dark ritual, in which case who bloody knows? :)

As for inventory, I doubt they'll change that substantially. They haven't mentionned about that yet, and have been pretty forthcoming about what they are fiddling with.

Don´t worry about DR. It isn´t fixed canon, so it´s unlikely it will have big consequences affecting gameplay.

The course of history has been changed before without defeating world-ending monstrosities. In fact, I'd say the course of history has been changed by real people in real life, where "ultimate evil" is very hard to come by.

For instance:
Choosing sides in a religious war, perhaps freeing Kirkwall from Chantry rule... then spreading a message of religious tolerance.
That would "change the entire course of history" without fighting an "ultimate evil".

I really don't know, man. You must be losing your touch ;)

Probably not, An inventory is bad and complicated for casual gamers. And bioware wants dragon age 2 to be casual friendly like mass effect 2.

I never actually played them but didn't one of the dungeon siege games have a pack mule?

I have DS2 and I don't think that was in there. I think there was a party chest or something similar. I do know Sacred 2 had a pre-order DLC (that I have) that has a cute little Demon Pack Mule. You can call him at all time and he'll bring your chest to you so you can dump items in it for later.

Got sidetracked by that silly "work" thing. Apparently, it was Dungeon Siege 1 that had mules. I just half-remember seeing it in some pc magazine.

I might have to buy a copy then. I think it really is a cool idea. A girl and her mule taking on the world one demon at a time.

Someone apparently hasn't discovered the power of reading threads -- especially threads with developer comments in them.

Well, the devs have said that there will be the inventory in DA2, but I hope it will be better than the one of Origins, that sucked. It was chaotic and just bad, the only worst inventory I can think of is the one of the first Mass Effect.

Player hold hundreds of heals 2 slots.

Very buggered, Player only should carry 1 heal 1 slot, no X99, stupid.

For 1000 element zero lyrium you can make your swords swing faster. But you can only choose one out of your 4 exciting new swords.

It's a Bioware game, so I know I'll spend the majority of it traveling to four or five different locations to recruit people, but do you think I'll be able to survive the final battle with the ULTIMATE EVIL THREATENING THEDAS if I don't get all of the campfire upgrades?

You might be able to survive, but the giant mechanical starships horses might cause the campfire to explode.

Yes, you could hire mules to accompany you in the original Dungeon Siege and they hold extra crap and they were succeptible to damage and death just like a normal party member.

Inventory tetris does not provide some kind of high intellectual achievement. This is why the issue of dumbing down is so confusing. Take MS-DOS and Windows, or manual and automatic transmission. Is the fact that something is less complicated and has far less aggravating steps in between a sign that it is for less intelligent people?

Having a lot of constrained choice doesn't make a game more intellectual - it just has a lot of constrained choice.

I wouldn't mind Shep's armour system being implemented, if there was a ton more options, and you could change it anywhere, not just your camp or wherever.

The rest should remain the same as in DA:O.

Chaotic? Really? Sure inventory in ME 1 was jumbled, but I wouldn't even go so far as to call it chaotic.

The DA: Origins system was fine, if a little long to navigate. You would need to site an example of an (in your opinion) efficent system.

God I just realised how much I would miss the inventory if it was removed. I always took it for granted, but it's a huge part of the game.

I think that changing the inventory from ME to ME2 was a good decision.

ME1 inventory was a nightmare, all the weapons were basicaly called gun I, II and III and you had to sift through the whole list of useless items to equip your partymembers with the best stuff plus you had to click on the locker of each NPC to equip them and couldn't see what others had equipped at the same time. Everytime you came back from a mission or two you had to sift through loads of crap you gathered and try to pick what to sell and remember if one of the rifles was better than the one Garrus currently had.

In ME2 a better weapon is automatically equipped to all partymembers once you find it and you can play the whole game in a cool N7 armour instead of wearing a purple one just because it's called armour XX.

I don't think the same thing should be done in DA2 but for ME it was a better choice imo

While I agree with your sentiment here, I have to take issue with one of your analogies - manual vs automatic transmission.

Automatic transmission can make for an easier drive particularly through heavy traffic, but there's nothing quite like a manual transmission in a muscle car while out for a drive. Posted Image
