I'd be thrilled if Bioware fixed any of the listed bugs, but I had the feeling that 1.04 was them just throwing us a bone and once DA2 is out, Origins will be dead to them. Hopefully I'm proven wrong. If the patches for the game weren't so few and far in between, I'd feel differently.  Heck, I don't even think Bioware looks at the tech support forums, or at least not often, which is why I'm hesistant to post anything here and not on the general forums instead.

So, does this mean that 1.04 fixed its long list of bugs adequately, at least?  I'd like to have this game on the Xbox, but it's been an ugly story from the release.  I'm not a hardcore gamer (I know, right?  Console.) or achievement monster, but things like using the wrong attributes for bows and daggers inexcusable for me.  Bugs are one thing, but failing to even get basic system mechanics into the game is too much.

Would, say, the Ultimate Edition be a decent purchase for me, or is the Xbox version so bungled that I should write it off entirely?

Technically you can conscript everyone into the wardens even with finishing Blackmarsh.

I did the Kal' Hirol quest last and just went and got her "signed up" before finishing the quest off.

Yeah that blackblade thing annoys me as well, especially as I usually play as rogues. Sadly we have no mods here on the consoles.

Oh and I'm pretty sure they've said already there'll be no fixing the Wardens Keep armour bug EVER due to Live having a beyond awful method of patching games which limits their size, amongst other things. Plus any new patch obviously has to include what the previous ones did, which doesn't help.

I've never experienced those Origins bugs however.

The Staff of the Magister Lord does ice damage instead of fire and spirit; it may have something to do with Warden's Keep.

I felt dumb posting that.

If you have a pc that can run it, then pc is the way to go. You get mods, and more importantly, people that actually fix the game. 1.04 fixed some of the outstanding bugs (only took 10 months...) but there are still issues that weren't fixed, and most likely won't be fixed for consoles. I'm not sure if the ultimate edition will include any new fixes, because then they'd have to release another patch for the people not playing the ultimate edition. If you do plan on getting it for xbox you might want to wait and see for a few days, week, or whatever until you see what kind of feedback people who've bought it have.

Warden Mage's Epilogue doesn't show the Circle of Magi being free to practice magic without Chantry supervision; neither does Irving acknowledge my boon when I ask for autonomy. This needs to be fixed before DA2 comes out.

I still can't engage in normal attack melée. My character just decides to do a forest gump impression instead! (starts running until you stop him) as a result I haven't play as a melée character yet :(

I was trying to finish off some old achivements and a few days ago I finished the perfectionist achievements. Afterward, as normal, after the credits roll, the game saves and when I resume I'm at the crossroads. Now, however, after the new patch, whenever I resume the game, it starts off from the coronation room instead of the crossroads. I believe this is also screwing up my import to awakenings.

I am playing the 360 version. Can someone quickly load up an ending file and confirm this for everyone please?

I doubt we will see more patches with Dragon Age 2 coming out in less than a month. And anyways, it took monhts, a year, to get some fixes that pc users had way before...so really, I wouldnt be optimistic about it.

It's highly unlikely we'll get a new patch unfortunately. There was mention that patch 1.04 was limited due to Microsoft's policy and limits on patches. With some sort of equality between platforms deal that suggests that if one can't get an official patch then the others don't either. At least that's what seems to be implied through a layer of hazy memories.
