Did Patch 1.04 fix Velanna's Exile? If so, how is it triggered? If not, why not?

I am curious as to the X-box users. Does it now work for you guys?

on 360 I found what worked was to clear the cache to get rid of teh current patch then force play the game without patches allows the random encounter (and it is random) to happen.

Im gonna assume you know how to clear your memory cache.

Do it



Load up dragon age and when it tries to patch tell it no.

Play the game without patching basicaly.



Also make sure Velanna is in your party and her relationship meter is like at least 80% full

The exile worked almost immediately after Velanna joined my party, so ya it is fixed. You might need to start an entirely different Awakening file though. Sigrun's quest on the other hand....

I started one playthourgh after patch installed and worked fine, but Sigrun's quest is still bugged.

As I remeber to do Sigruns you have to pretty much never have entered Amaranthine or do any of teh quests there until you do hers.

I tried doing as you suggested but all my files went corrupt and I didn't want to delete anything. Bioware just needs to take look into this, we shouldn't have to go through all this trouble; its distressing.

Theres something seriusly wroung then.........wait all your files are corrupt after clearing cache?  Try updating your game to the current patch and see if that helps. All files going corrupt is what the bad 1.04 patch did to peoples games.

So... let met get this straight.

Velanna's Exile *can* trigger in 1.04... you just need to delete the 1.04 patch first?

That would be a "no" then...

I had no problem triggering Velanna's exile whatsoever on the 360 with patch 1.04.  I also had no problems with the silverite mines either that so many others have complained about. 

Let me tell you a few things in case it matters.  I didn't purchase therefore never played Awakenings before patch 1.04.  After skimming these forums I decided it wasn't worth it.  I'm not sure how you're supposed to 'trigger' it as it is my first play through, but all I did after picking up Velanna was toss her a few gifts to up her approval rating before leaving the area you pick her up in (can't recall the name atm).

No, I have done Nates and Anders' quests already. I haven't done oghrens or Justices yet if they have any. As I said it is my first playthough in Awakenings.

As for Velanna, I'm not even sure of the quest is ongoing or what.  What has happened is I was aproached by a former clanmate of hers in a random encounter.  I stuck up for her.  Got some positive approval rating.  I went back to the keep and she spoke to me of her exile.  That part was bugged, I was staring at a wall and couldn't even see her, but I did get dialog and further positive approval rating.  I am not sure if there is more to her quest or not.


*Edit Velanna's Exile has moved to "Completed Quests" so I'm assuming that means there is no more to it.
