Hey, Deekin got stuff done. All Senator Binks ever did was destroy the Republic.

Damn. Still won't go away. Somebody give me a torch.

Ok...quit the PC superiority bs....Seriously, it's immature.

I'm not sure if many bioware games would work with co-op. Some combat options (such as pausing) would be difficult to impliment for two people, and having two living individuals participate in dialogue would be...interesting.

If they could make it work, then it would be different, for sure. I'm just worried that the single player will suffer for it...

The original poster wanted a discussion on the idea of a Dragon Age co-cop, and he got it. The fact that opinions are not firmly on the side of co-op should be an indicator that no, adding co-op to a Dragon Age game will not suddenly magically make it quadruple its sales.

Bioware sure is listening to the more vocal people on this forum as an indicator of potential sales.

Bioware isn't interested in patching their current games, much less for game balance...

What does co-op have to do with game balance?

The only think that is being asked is a tool so we can chose to play with dumb NPC's as your party or with player's as your party, everything else stays unchanged.

Neverwinter Nights as a gameplay just like Dragon Age: Origins (both games are from BioWare) and alows you to chose this, the game is still hugely played by gamers to the day.

Dragon Age requires a conection to the internet so it track's your DLC's, why not use that to replace the NPC's of your party with players?

I guess BioWare is subdued to EA bidding and not freewilled anymore

At the risk of supporting thread necromancy... you're seriously suggesting that there's no MP in Dragon Age because EA didn't want it? This is taking anti-EA paranoia to new heights.

It's also just not that simple to take a SP engine and turn it into an MP engine.

And Dragon Age doesn't require an internet connection after DLC activation.

Finally, not all NWN content could be played MP. HotU, for instance, didn't work.

They did it in BG and in BGII I see NO reason why they can't do it as effectively in DA2 it has relatively the same system as a CRPG, just tweaked combat.

***EDIT***

oopsie, forgot about the cinematic changes. Sorry nope can't work :P

I'd hate to have a multiplayer game for the console simply because of the fact that unless the game is hugely popular, the servers will eventually shut down. Then there's all that time the developers spent on it down ther drain when they could have made the single-player a better experience.

On the other hand, EA has said that they're done releasing single-player, indicating that all future releases (outside of the games already near end production) will have a multiplayer component, such as the upcoming Dead Space 2.

I totally support coop play. Man, since Mass Effect a friend and I kept thinking about "Why don't they support coop?"

Fable has done a great coop feature for example. Just let my friends take over my party member during missions/fights/quests with a Jump in/Jump out system and here we go, marvelous coop play !

I say no. It takes away resources that could be better spent on improving the single player game play and multiplayer would just make balancing things that much harder.
