During the cinematic cutscenes (e.g. Ostagar) the audio seems delayed compared with the video. At the beginning of the scenes, the delay is hardly noticeable, but the longer the it goes on, the more out-of-sync it gets. Ordinary cutscenes and general gameplay unaffected. Video and audio drivers up-to-date, game fully patched (with Awakening). Tried with and without v-sync, no joy. Performance otherwise is fine, running on max res. and detail; problem seems to be audio running slowly, rather than video quickly.
Did scan these forums, didn't find anything helpful - my bad if I missed it.
Running 64-bit Windows 7, Intel Core 2 Q9550, ATI Radeon HD4890, 4GB RAM. Sound driver VIA High Definition Audio.
If any other info is needed, ask.
Thanks.
Audio out of sync during cinematics

Probably something caused by some video codec forcing a certain framerate for the audio which does not match with the video. Do you have any codec packs installed and if so, forced any settings in them?

Not that I'm aware of, although that would make sense - I've had the same problem in other games as well.
How would I check?
Edit: I definitely haven't forced any settings, unsure about whether or not anything is installed.

I had hoped someone else more into codecs would have stepped up, but do you have this issue with all video files (try different types if you can like avi, mpg, mov), or only in games? There are several threads on internet forums on the more general subject, see for instance:

Problem solved.
In device manager, under audio devices I had two devices: VIA HD Audio (the right one) and ATI HD Audio. I disabled the latter, and the audio is as it should be again.
Thanks for your help basdoorn, I would probably have given up without your contribution.

No problem and glad to hear you worked it out! Also thanks for reporting back, the Ati HD Audio devices are on all newer Ati cards, so no doubt others will benefit from this thread in the future. It is quite strange that simply having another audio device enabled messes up your audio synchronization like that and makes all cut scenes go out of sync, but it shows how you can have the strangest issues with conflicting PC hardware and/or drivers.

I have the same problem, when I watch the cut scene I notes that the sound is not the same with the scene, I tried everything. From updating my sound card to updating my video card and patch the game with the latest patch nothing? First I thought yes I fix the problem later I see that the problem has returned? Same say that it is the ATI CCC(control center) but I don’t know. I tried also what you said about the audio device nothing, can you help me with the problem?
