When I bought Bioware points last night, I got an extra $1 charge to my credit card account for BOTH transactions. This is the third or fourth time this has happened to me. Is this some annoying surcharge for using the website/some way for EA to surreptitiously get a little extra money? It's aggravating not knowing why...

their responses:
You have not been extra charged for this order. Therefore, if you still see any charge on your account statement, it is the pre-authorization charge, not an actual charge. Pre-authorizations are typically held for a few days when using a credit card. Please allow 5-6 business days to waive this charge from your account

I don't agree with this policy, but they have 162 hours to release the funds come rain, sleet, snow or shine, acts of 'god', weekends and holidays included. Anything beyond that and they'll be in a world of trouble, 1 dollar or 100 dollars doesn't matter.

agreed same to me. It charge your card even before to finalize the order, just after you compiled your data. In this way i was surcharged even when i buy nothing, because i cancelled the order !........ This can be even seen as a fraud or thief. Its obvious a compilation error, but i'm very disappointed with such mistake and i'm so sorry because i would like to still buy those beautiful content from them, but I will not do anymore if they not resolve this annoying question.

..bonebreaker, i dont understand this answer, they dont need pre-autorization, with today technology they can instantly know if a credit cars have enough credit or not and infact are instantly charged. Pre-autorization is used when you wanna make a reservation, like hotel but also to buy a car ecc. ecc. which you will pay later.
