Do you think thatwith games these days actors are more keen playing VO for games? Gaming is more and more popular, and if its popular there is money...do you think that these factor might affect the paygrade of said "stars"?

I think it's becoming seen as a legitimate thing for established actors to do. There was once a stigma against movie actors working in television, for instance, but that has passed-- and video games are slowly going the same way. Whether that will ever mean actors getting bigger salaries I have no idea. The time commitment is much less, so it's not the same as a movie role, but who knows? I suspect it'll always be less lucrative than a film or television role, and thus we'll always be in competition against those things when it comes to successful (and thus very busy) actors.

I think that sounds very reasonable Mr. Gaider. I loved Martin Sheen's performance in Mass Effect 2, it was brilliant.

Have you ever taught about using some of the fans on the forum to help voice act for the game to save money?

I am sure they be more than happy to help and then the people whom play the game might feel more involed a game for fans made by fans so to speak

I'm sure that SAG would have an issue with that.

Plus I suspect that we'd get what we paid for, more often than not.

I know there are people who mock Isolde, but I thought the actress did an excellent job-- especially in the scene where she kills Connor herself. Loghain's VA was one of those cases where you see why some actors make more money than others. Seasoned pro, there, who actually made the lines better and generally didn't require re-takes. Claudia Black was fun to work with-- she teased me mercilessly; she has such a wicked laugh.

Very well. You are permitted to dream. But only because Tom Hardy is hot enough to melt peanut butter.

There have been exactly three occasions where I have gone to Caroline and said "I want this actor, please" and my first choice was both available and interested.

Amusingly, the infamous "MEG" is one of those occasions.

My comment wasn't an insult or anything, btw.

Not like there is any topic to discuss after knowing who the voice of Hawke is.

I do wonder what renowned actors might make an appearance.

If I were to have Tom Hardy do a character, it'd have to be like his Heathcliff from Wuthering Heights.

ZOMG coincidence! I didn't even know much of Wuthering Heights before I saw that on ITV a few months ago. It's now my favourite book in the whole world. Hmpf! I want to be Cathy and have Tom as my Heathcliff Posted Image Posted Image

*note to self, if David Gaider ever mentions any future evil character could melt peanut butter into buttery evil goodness he possibly has Tom Hardy in mind to voice the role*

As for the comment earlier about Loghain, one of my favourite speeches in Origins was the one he gives to Anora just before he is to be executed. The way Simon Templeman delivered that speech was absolutely perfect. The timing of the words and the emphasis of some of them really delivered the emotion behind them.

Back on-topic, I can imagine Tom Hardy being able to play a really evil character so well even just as a VA. Same as Rufus Sewell could but I know he doesn't like playing evil characters anymore (least I am sure I read that somewhere)

Sir Ulrich, I hope this happens. It would be absolutely fabulous to have him as VO. As you say, I think he would play a really good villan as is evident from his wonderful performance as Heathcliff.

My crush seems okay now that David Gaider seems to have one too. I am not alone!!! Posted Image

If you want another great villain piece by Hardy see him as Bill Sykes from Oliver Twist.
