Not all that interesting, really. Mostly for completeness' sake.

EDIT: Thanks mate.
Are you going to be making an "unused audio master thread" with links to each one so we can bully Jav into stickying it?

Yeah, I really should. I still want to make separate ones for each vid, though. That way they're viewable without navigating away from the forums, and I won't have some mega-thread with a ton of separate embedded flash applets.

Interesting stuff, much appreciated. Totally want a biotic salarian on the team in ME3 now.

That way it would be much easier to bump and for people to see them all

To OP: I really appreciate what you have done. BTW, how many unused/glitched/hidden files do you have left to upload and reveal to the community?
I don't know exactly. Some of it I already know for sure wasn't in the game (like the already known Liara Shadow Broker dialogue, for instance). Still, I have a bunch of stuff left to check, but most of it will just turn out to be in the game after all, and I didn't hear it because I chose different dialogue options or whatever. That's been the case for most of the dialogue I haven't been sure about.
As far as the actual number of files...got me. I haven't even bothered to count. The way they split things up is really inconsistent. Sometimes a single file will be two words, and sometimes it'll be two or more sentences. Occasionally, separate files will be part of the same line, if you're talking more in "screenplay" terms. Plus, I stich conversations or related lines together into single files that are easier to work with.

this is different story. I brought Morinth first time for final mission. but there was bugs. indicator on the screen showed her as Samara. I don't know whether she has Reave or not. but it was the exactly same like Samara. is she? even other place sometimes indicator shows her as Samara. I don't know. why. here is funny thing. when I went to Tuchanka with Grunt, she was revealed who she really was. grunt mention that 'stay away Asari ****'? LOL.

Interesting.
I know what you mean, I bet there is a good amount of audio many people have not heard yet (myself included) due to options we haven't chosen (like some super mean ones), ones that would take too long to set up (like ME1 import stuff affecting ME2 stuff), etc. Anyway, thanks again for the info and the work!

WHAT THE HECK?! Was Mordin initially going to be a biotic comprable to those two?? Was Jack or Samara a character created after Mordin's VO/development?? What caused the overall change??
Initially, I thought the reasoning for Mordin or Thane not having any role in the suicide mission was that a leg of it was cut (perhaps something involving stealth or recon), however, this makes me believe that either characters were added later, or Mordin and Thane's roles evolved over time. The implications of this audio are endless.

People will say that, even though he didn't have a specific role in the mission itself, Mordin is still critical to the mission's success because he does all the research on the ship. It's Thane who doesn't have a definite role, other than to die easily and not catch Shepard.FlyinElk212 wrote...

Thane did have a specific role at one point, but they switched him out at the last moment for Garrus. Pity, as he then became the odd man out of the dozen.
ETA: I suspect the developers might have worked backwards, laying out the suicide mission first with who would work where, and then changing it as they started to develop the characters for the rest of the game. Mordin was supposed to be a biotic, but instead they determined it made more sense to just leave him as a tech.

I agree with the developers working backwards theory. It makes more sense to make sure that the most difficult mechanic in the game is fleshed out before anything else.
However, out of curiosity, what specific role did Thane have in place of Garrus's? o______O And how do you know this??
(I STILL think that just making a leg requiring a squaddie to sneak around would've solved everything. The remaining two characters without roles in the Suicide Mish would both have roles that fit their characters nicely)

I'm guessing that Pacifien is saying Thane could do that originally, but his role got reshaped.

Thane was supposed to be one of the top three defenders for the Hold the Line segment of the mission, along with Grunt and Zaeed. But as Garrus was able to hold off three merc groups for over a day, the developers realized he probably would make a better defender.FlyinElk212 wrote...

I know this because I asked a developer (some of them answer their PMs
There are a lot of ideas I wish they had implemented for the suicide mission (more sneaking around, sniper distractions), but I realized how each element added to the suicide mission made it more difficult to establish roles and deaths to allow for Shepard to have the necessary two squadmates with him for the final battle.

Yeah...and therein lies the biggest problem with that. Unless Bioware forced the character to have all 12 squaddies, they of course couldn't make the suicide mission too long.
Hmm...the Thane thing's very interesting to me. I understand the move though. Really, I see almost no justification for Thane being one of the top 3 hold-the-line-ers.
Still an interesting thing though. I'd love to get the scoop on the development of the game, like a behind-the-scenes what happened during the development stages to cause huge switches in the overall game.
