I think we can handle it.
Uhhh... sure....
You should keep in mind though Bioware is looking to make money and generally speaking the best way to do that is to tell individuality to go **** itself and play to the biases of the biggest consumer.
excellent! Now I have a few short questions for you.
Question 1) where do you stand on hairy dwarf love?...

Is being different now equivalent to individuality?
yes and it sorta always was. Kinda of how synonyms work.

Keeping it vague so I don't get it wrong.

Ok, lets be philosophical shall we? America has tremendous influence on entertainment and the arts. It's inescapable. As a result, the same familiar ideas and tropes get perpetuated, time and time again. I personally value individuality. I like Anime and foreign films, and things that have taken root and blossomed outside of the all-pervasive American influence.
I'm asking one thing here. That DA2 be allowed to gestate outside of American influence. Surely, this request isn't dealing some mortal blow to Americans everywhere. I think we can all handle it.
...It's not like DAO was so completely different from any other Medieval European Fantasy. It subverts some things, and is much more interesting than many of its predecessors, but unless you believe DAO was heavily influenced by America, I'd say it's not something that's all that rare. Games that occur in modern settings have heavily American themes, many American standards, and are obviously influenced by the country. Games that appear in historical (or quasi-historical) settings aren't. They have modern views (women in the army!), often, but mostly Western rather than American.

Since there's been a lot of rather inappropriate jokes and way too much generalizing for and against real world countries going on, I'm shutting it down.
End of line.
