I would prefer less as few American accents as possible. No need to take offence, it's just that they dominate so much media as it is, that some other accents (with the exception of the horribly forced ones.. I'm looking at YOU Dia from Taris!) are a pleasant change of pace.

No, the city elf captures the shtetl feel better. Are you thinking about the Sephardim? Not really the same kind of migration.

I haven't played part in the anti-American sentiment on this thread but I don't see why the hate should come as a shock, to be honest. I'm only Canadian

The dominate culture in a society is always going to be a target for resentment from the lesser ones, Seeing as how we have a global society these days (and a global community on this board),   Take it as a testement to your power, (or amusing at least)

And that wasn't a biggotless post? really?

What the hell was the original point of this thread? I'm honestly having a hard time seeing where this was ever constructive in the first place.

Alright then the only thing you need to do to realize what American culture is, is travel or learn about other cultures.

lol
I do a lot of traveling. Don't worry about my exposure to other cultures. I'm just taking the ****** out of us Americans. We tend to get very sensitive about criticism so I'm just doing my part to show the world we aren't all on a huge power trip.

I'm just disappointed when it gets down to country-bashing. Unless it's done in a good-natured manner, but these days it rarely is.

I try to judge people on their individual merit and not by the actions of their government. You will never see me bashing people for being from a particular country. I like that there are people from all over the place posting here but I'm probably a tree-hugging hippie or something.

I'll just go eat my 3rd daily McDonalds meal and drool all over myself while watching Springer.

Evangelical Andrastians, Andrastians who believe the prophet came to their continent after being burned, and have their own version of the Chant of Light. There are many images of America, but lets not forget the religious aspect.

Listen, I'm okay with joking around lightheartedly about the country--Americans do it too, believe it or not--but it's painfully clear some of you guys are being more venomous than humorous.

Fair enough. Lots of people say there's no such thing as American culture without a shred of irony. My mistake.

That kinda makes sense with the whole "Qunari = Turks" thing too. As City Elves in Qunari conquered lands are protrayed as really reluctant to go back to being under Chantry rule and back in 1492 when the Spanish Inquisition started persecuting Jews and Muslims in the reconquered Moorish lands several hundred thousand displaced Jews (and just as many Moors) took up an invitiation from the Ottoman Empire to resettle in Eastern Europe and Istanbul.

I'm only Canadian and I frequently get harassed on forums / online games when the other people find out I'm not american. I just slap them on ignore and keep playing but it gets annoying when your ignore list is full. :P

I'm stereotyping, yes. Although I've experienced too much of it that it's left me bitter.

It was said tongue in cheek,  just doing my part to get a useless thread locked.

You ain't the only one.

I've met plenty of perfectly friendly southerners but 7 in 10 times it's just them being polite. They still think I'm an abomination going to hell or that I'm stuck in some sort of rebellious phase.

Uncle Same signs my checks while the politicians they keep sending back into office advocate the near destruction of the federal gov't and I'm the rebel.

The Dalish always seems closer to the Indian tribes of the Americas but i do see the similiarites between what happened between Judiasm and Christianity and what happens between the Maker and the Elven gods.

OMG me too, although I'm probably going to be naturalized as a US citizen in a month or two (which is funny because I came to America at age 9 and am now 22 so I fail to see the reason for all the questions to guage assimilation when I practially grew up and went to grade/middle/high school and Uni here)

Still this thread is a bad troll topic and should be locked :?

Yeah but he's basically just a real life troll and everyone not in his family thinks he's an idiot. Also, this happened.

I'm not saying there aren't terrible jerkass Americans. Every country has jerks and saints (what's that Kaidan quote about aliens along those lines?). I get prickly when I get lumped in with the ****s though.
