Annoyed would be a better word, but if you were kidding then fine. The internet has long since ceased being "serious business" to me. You have to realize though that over the internet it's impossible to tell if you are kidding when you say things that lots of other people say seriously.
DA2 needs more Americans

Is that like being 'consolized'? I hope you haven't been 'dumbed down' as a result.
I was born in Florence while my dad was in the military, then when he had to be moved to America I had to go with him and my mom

Ah yes I see, though to correct you, the Chinese are now the only ones able to fund a space program. We ride Russian tubes to the INSS these days.
No correction needed, really. When I was talking about funding, I was making mention of the Firefly reference that I ended up not going with.
However, that's an interesting tidbit, I wasn't fully aware of. The Chinese able to fund themselves, yes. That we ride the Russian Tubes, no. Thanks.

I think we should take this in an entirely different direction. That is to say, I think there should be some DLC released for DA2, similar to the Superman cut-scene that we got in DA:O, where a Chinese, a Russian, a German and an American spaceship have crash-landed on an invading Qunari legion, scattering their numbers. This is where our protagonist can walk in on an argument between the astronauts as to who landed there first, waving their hands, and prying each others flags from the ground.
No British or French? Darn, and I thought this was a United Nations affair.............
Originally, I was going to make it a firefly reference, and stick with America and China, but I ended up taking the race-stance, as a result, I felt that adding in too many cultures would seem a bit heavy-handed, and as a result, took an example from the more prominent astro-reaching nations.
I'll edit it just for you!
Please no special favors. I don't see the Firefly reference, though it's been a while since I've watched my collection.
Already did it, and I was saying that I was *thinking about using a firefly reference*. Because of funding, only the Americans and Chinese could afford the space programs needed for that kind of interstellar travel. That's the reason that they speak a mixture of Chinese and English (though mostly English).
Is it now? I havn't watched that show in awhile, though it's around on my external here somewhere. I remembering wondering if China had become the global superpower at some point in the setting (which would make sense) I never picked up on a clear referance as to what was going on with that theme though.

You should be grateful, I'm the one who goes out there to tame polar bears with my hockey stick. I live off maple syrup and whale blubber when marching through the harsh tundra, while you're sitting at home living in comfort with your fancy baby seal cub skin sheets.
I worked with my dad to build that igloo. He climbs our regional iceberg every day to pick maple leaves to make that syrup you so graciously drink to survive.
When I save up enough to buy my own zamboni I will finally escape this frozen tundra and go somewhere nice and warm, like Anchorage.

Double-checking probably wouldn't hurt, as I'm going off of having not watched it (save for an episode here or there) in about a year and a half. I think I'm correct about that, though, yes.

As demoralizing as I personally find the US stance on space exploartion these days, it does make a kind of sense. Untill new propulsion techs are invented and refined, it really is just a money and resource sink. I'd feel better if we were actually fast tracking those tech lines, but unless fusion power kicks off in a big way and we have a reason to go to the moon again to mine He3, I'm forced to be pretty pessimistic about any significant advances happeing in my life time.

Sadly yes. I could look it up, but I'm not going to. We either have had our last shuttle mission or will shortly. This is at least until 2030, or until a new administration + congress. The Russians will be carting our Astronauts into space from here on out.
The Chinese do have a mission in the works to explore the moon, as did we for 2020, which has been canceled. Explore the moon you say? Well, not really. I think, if I'm understanding correctly, that we were trying to better understand the effects of cosmic radiation, which for any actual space exploration is extremely important.
We still are capable of launching a few satelites, but the budget has been slashed enormously.
As far as being a Superpower, no need to fret, we still and will hold that title for a bit longer. Well, militarily speaking. China has a bit longer to come with in the realm of human rights and capitalistic tendencies before they can claim the number 1 spot.

Oh my friend, we are we are. Sadly many of these programs we cut in funding as well. However, no need to worry because many Universities are better funded than what the Guber-ment could do justice.
So many projects in the works along the lines of space tethers and lazers. The tech in leaving orbit will persist, but not the tech once out of orbit. 2 Steps forward and 1 back. Nothing new.

I'm Australian and the last thing I want is aussie accents in games (unless they're stereotypical and done badly, thus hilarious!). Seriously, why would you want to play a game where people sound like everyone you see on a daily basis? It makes no sense. At all.
