Just as long as they give me the option to make my PC black, I'm cool.

I salute you sir for not complaining about a made-up land not having african americans. As for black npc's (Rivaini people I think), no problem, but if there is an Africa, it isn't remotely near ThedasDA Trap Star wrote...

In other words, no. Political Correctness is boring. If it makes no sense for there to be a black character, then so be it. If it makes sense, then they have every right to add one. But adding one for the sake of it is just ridiculous.

Political correctness is no doubt boring, but also a poor way to sugar coat things, it makes people seem like they can't form a sentence when they have to think which term is the least offensive.
If we get a black npc, make him a rivaini native that has a west african accent and a Kratos tatoo (Speakign of tatoos, I pray to all that is holy we get to put tatoos on our Hawke's body, not just face paint)

There were a few black NPCs here and there. And I wouldn't mind a Samuel L Jackson type (bad mofo) as a companion. But wouldn't care too much if it wasn't implemented.

They didnt base the game on medieval europe. You should probably know some stuff about history before making claims. There were blacks in medieval Europe. They were sometimes called moors. Also blacks could exist in Thedas because of the description of people from Rivian.
Stop flaming me ifI know more than you....
Anyways, yes, they did base DAO on medieval Europe.
It still stands that there were blacks in Medieval times. Something that you didnt know.
And where were they? Much less Asains, Pacific Islanders, Arabians and so on?
lots of it depends on the timeline... asians came through northeastern europe (huns) early on. Moors were mainly north african muslims who conquered most of Iberia several hundred years later. Arabians would be the Ottomans... after they conquered Constantinople they rolled west through the Balkans at the end of the middle ages.
It was a rhetorical question.

opening a bracket:
why some people always assimilates jamaicans with rasta?
Not all jamaicans are rasta, and rasta don't consider I-self ( or himself if you prefer) as a jamaican but as an african if not ethiopian.
Rasta belongs the african diaspora when he's not at home.
Rasta is gone inter and outernationally.Seen?
Never you heard him say "Africa for the africans, at home and abroad"
closing brackets.

And Jacob was a stereotype.
I'm lol'ing at the irony of this statement. Saying that Jacob was a "stereotype" is just reversing the racist card back on you.
I didn't think he was a stereotype at all.
Stating that a character is a stereotype because of their skin color/ethnicity when that character exhibits no stereotypical attributes is basically saying "you just needed a token ______ character". Which is a stereotype, because it implies that you don't think the character is being portrayed as anything other than one.

Very true my friend. Being compared to Kayne West around here constantly is degrading. Us blacks dont need stereotypes to represent us in a game.

Agreed, and I think Jacob was actually a pretty darn good character. He was an isle of stability among the crazies and narcissists that Shepard ended up being surrounded by. I just didn't want to romance him because the dialog felt like I was sexually harassing him.

Unless he's voiced by Chris Tucker, no.
Nor do I want a grizzled black "sarge" type character. I'd rather not have a character that has been done to death before.

We can use something like a Story Teller: Morgan Freeman
or someone funny as an important character in game: like Samuel L. Jackson or Chriss Rock
