At the moment I'm playing a lathander=>cleric, and use level 1 npc to make the rest of my party into skalds.......
I haven't done "the backstab" yet, but the thought of it made me smile.
BADFMS
p.s.
I don't post properly for a couple of years and the whole forums shuts down, with nothing but really emotional posts left to read?!
It feels like opening google only to find the internet is broken....
I think maybe some of you would appreciate my latest playthrough....

You dualclassed a god to a cleric? Awesome!
Edit: What god does Lathander pray to then?

Hmmm...nice bit of accidental post modern irony.
I just wanted to be reassured that someone still gets the reference...so many new people here!
I will be consoled if Frab [or even Canman] will show up.

Do that big number backstab then, in the name of frab... I just hope that when he reads the announcement in the old boards it won't be like :
"blah blah blah... eehhh.. forums closing... see you on the social site... what? humm... that is interesting... let's see... social dot bioware dot com... hmmm... err.. What the hell is this crap?! I am NOT joining here!
Edit : on a more on topic side note : I'd almost be moved to put those 11 discs into meh computer to try the big backstab... but then, I realize the number and say : err, maybe later
... I must so buy the 4 in 1...

The backstab is something that frabjous once did with an Assassin->Cleric, for 1064 damage.
Eleven discs? I guess that would be BG1 + BG2.

Remember the days when computer games came in oversized cardboard boxes? With chunky manuals? Ahhh ....

Once again, I hope frabjous doesn't mind if I post his great achievement :

... not that a game achievement is that important eh?
Epic... simply epic.

Don't forget that about a third of the damage comes from the bards.

And their apparent... simulacri?

Only a third? So he did <650 dmg by himself? In one attack? Mind. Blown. I did not know you could get anywhere near that much power in one attack. Or several, for that matter.
Plus, I like the fact his charname is Assassin->Cleric -- or is it actually something different and it just popped up that way?

I believe he just was making experimentations. On a plus side, a kensai->thief should get a 300-400 damage backstab I guess... Yeah...
Clerics have a lot of buffs, along with the fist of golem, the apparent tenser's transformation... well, one gets strong

The math is really quite easy. Shapechange Golem gives you 4D10 damage. Righteous Magic makes that 40 damage. Assassin multiplyer + Critical Hit = 14. 14 x 40 = 560. There are some more minor buffs, (like strength 25) but that's where most of the damage comes from.
A kensai(24)->Thief could easily do 480 damage this way (without the "minor buffs" or bards). ((40 + 24/3) x 10), but then a kensai(24)->Thief could also do about 6k damage in one round, so there.

But it's also true that most big mates are immune to backstabs, so I'd actually prefer a pure Kensai going with Staff of the Ram +6 and greater whirlwind in battle. (and KAAAI
)... don't know if so much damage as 6k or 600 could be done in one round, BUT I guess that some damage could be done... If only every hit was a critical... to which lets me think... a Kensai, with SotR +6... how many attacks per round can he/she reach with buffs?

With the True Grandmastery patch, 8.
8 x (22 + 14 + 13 + 3 + 2) = 8 x 54 = 432
(without true grandmastery): 6 x 54 =324
Obviously, you'd get more damage dualwielding. Especially with a class such as the kensai who gets so much extra damage per hit you should not go for two handed weapons unless you're GWWing.
10 APR means 10 times + 30 damage (on top of your weapon damage), meaning 300 points of damage extra. Who cares about what weapons you are using anymore at this point?

Clever
I just imagined a ninja-style kensai using a staff. Yuu-ha!
But then again, we have the ogre magi's "Iaaah!"

Is it just me or do some of the kobold sounds make them seem like tiny martial artists?
The whole "hyaaAAAH HEE!"

Wow, that's amazing.
Incidentally, jaxsbudgie made a Screenshot Gallery group. Do you think frabjous would mind if we enshrined this achievement in the glory it deserves for evermore...?

:-)
It's certainly the place if anyone wants to show off any similar achievement, anyway, so I figured it might be worth a mention. There's not a lot up there atm so if anyone has anything cool, feel free to post it.
