Neither. I prefer the Eviscerator for that build. With biotics, you don't need to worry about pinpoint accuracy if you're advancing.
Same here. I also prefer Evi on a Sentinel.

Incidentally, this is my build:
Unstable Warp
Throw 1
Heavy Singularity
Pull Field
Nemesis
Heavy Barrier
With the 6/6 Biotic damage upgrade you get from Firewalker, Unstable will one-shot a Drone's Barrier in one go. Not to mention, the 7 (!) m radius is more useful to me than an additional 40 pts of damage.
P.S. I'm on the XBox, so no modding for me, unfortunately. Otherwise, I'd give myself the Mattock/Viper for ultimate cheese.

Hmm, I dunno. I decided to do a test run with my old Adept and the Mattock on Zaeed's loyalty mission. It's a freakin' killer, but especially with the Adept, ammo conservation IS an issue (I use the SMG as a back-up weapon, and like Nickjnp said, I prefer the Tempest). Unfortunately, I have no Collector vessel save, so I'd have to start over from scratch if I wanted to pick up a Shotty, Evi or GPS. If anybody has a vid of them using the GPS/Evi effectively with the Adept, I'd appreciate it.

I used all shotties with my Adept - they're all good though Claymore is best. I think there're a few options; if you're fighting at medium range GPS is best SG and will take down defenses quick and easy, Evi performs reasonably at medium range, all other SGs are very bad.
If you get in close - meaning true SG range, to get the point blank dmg bonus - all shotties are good. Claymore, Evi and Katana can kill most enemies with a single shot (+ melee), though most of the time enemies have suffered biotic damage anyway, making things easy.
If you're looking to strip defenses quickly and use biotics to mess with your unprotected victims - Scimitar is what you need.
Get Heavy Warp, its much better. Radius is large enough and extra damage helps. You can use Miranda or Thane if you really need Unstable Warp - I recommend bringing at least one of them every mission. Warp explosions are devastating and once you get the hang of it; you'll only have to walk in and finish the leftovers
Put one point in Throw and Pull asap, then work on other abilities, max Throw or Pull last. Haven't recorded anything using Evi or GPS, but there're plenty of vids in my sig when I use Scimitar and Claymore on my Adept - Arhka recorded some Evi Adept vids btw (he's playing on 360 like you)
Have fun with the SG Adept - best ME2 experience

Mattock definitely allows me to close distance more safely than the Vindicator (burst firing takes too long up-close when an enemy is shooting at you, whereas the Mattock brings 'em down FAST). Used intelligently, in tandem with numerous Warp explosions, the low ammo capacity can be managed quite well. The pure DPS is nice on a class that has a noticeable lack of heavy firepower. Bosses and elites go down a lot faster (Krogans, YMIR mechs).
Also, it's a solid ranged weapon. I don't think I'll be taking the Viper anymore on the Adept or Engineer. I'll try the GPS if I can muster up the willpower to do another Insanity run from scratch after this playthrough.
