I have a working installation of Mass Effect on Windows 7 64-bit via Steam, and the MassEffect_BDtS_ES_a.exe executable. Every single time I've tried to install, I get an error stating that the installer does not support the English language, and that I should go and download the appropriate version.

Here's a short list of what I've tried to fix this:
* deleting the local content from Steam, both with and without deleting the Mass Effect directory under Steam's folder
* running the installer before and after the initial launch of the game
* using Steam to verify the local files

Now, one thing I do notice, is that when I go underneath the install to BioEngine.ini (not the copy underneath My Documents), I can change the Language setting there from INT to EN, and then running the installer states that "this installer does not support the  language".

If that's not where the BDtS installer is getting its language information, then where is it? Something's coming from there, at least. Is there a registry entry the installer's looking for? I'd very much like to get the expansion installed and get at my old characters.

MassEffect_BDtS_ES_a.exe Are you sure it's the english version? Sounds more like Spanish. ES = Espana.

According to http://masseffect.bi...nthesky_pc.html, the "ES" is for English and Spanish.
