Inept above Veteren, sure. Below that the telekinesis aspect is much more refined and warp bombs are made of win.

Indeed, Adept is among the most deadly classes - OPed at easier difficulty; challenging on Insanity. At least up to the first warp explosion - stripping defenses of nearby enemies - back to the good old biotic terror, fly baby - bye baby

When I move to insanity next play, using guns, I am not expecting any great hardship. With the correct teammates and usage of powers Adepts own at all levels. Am even considering an shotgun adept, but will probably just do another AR instead of my typical Sniper adept.
If you compare them to the biotic gods of ME1 then yes they are underpowered, but then most other classes are the same when compared to ME1. Yeah, ME2 Soldiers can rock, but they can't just pop immunity and walk into the center of the room and clear it, like they could in ME1. I could do the rest, but you get my drift, ME2 combat is harder than ME1, and I like it.

It's a common misconception.
Adepts can still *function* on Insanity and Hardcore. You can still beat the game, no question.
The issue is that they have to be played like gimped soldiers, defence stripping one by one and punting enemies out of the way. There's none of this 'the class is the best at defeating opponents without firing a shot' on Insanity. They spend more time shooting then they do using Biotics.
Normal/Veteran is a whole new ball game, however. Much more in keeping with how they were advertised.

Yes, you can lock down whole rooms with Stasis, but it is really useful only against big guys. But then again, Lift is better in every way imho - your squad can attack an enemy affected by Lift or Singularity, but not enemy in Stasis.
Actually, Bastion Stasis does allow you to attack enemies. This is one of the best ways to take down a Thresher Maw or Colossus on foot.
Does Stasis work on Saren? (Either version.) I know Lift does on version 2 once you take his shields down - I pulled him right off the wall.

Yes. Exactly. That's why I think Lift and Nemesis is superior to Stasis and bastion.

Besides, Squadmates may not shoot the frozen baddy, but you can stil use them to aim powers. Target with Carnage, Warp, Damping etc.

Hardcore and Insanity are not that far apart.
I just completed a few weeks ago a complete run WITHOUT MY CHARACTER FIRING A SHOT ON HARDCORE!
You don't have to fire a shot with an Adept, and the proper use of powers makes anything past the clearing of protections of the FIRST opponent with guns redundant.
Again, Adepts rock very well without shooting!! You just have to know how to play them, and what teammates to take.

Yes higher Stasis DOES work on Saren, last game I lifted then Stasised him until death.
Usually my companions will attack an enemy that has been stasised only if the enemy has previously shot at them. I don't know if this was my imagination or if I actually remembered them doing this, but again, if an enemy shot at my companions and then I lifted and stasised him they continued shooting, I think.

im sure you can beat insanity without firing a shot as well. everything in this world becomes easier the more you do it. im sure that was a very boring play through for you. that doesnt really show that the adept is awesome on insanity it just shows that youve played too much ME2.
in my book every ability that becomes useless becaseu of enemy protections is a bad ability. why do i worry if i have heavy throw of throw field when i cant even use it anyways.
its your own opinion that adepts are "fun" on insanity, becaseu im my mind adepts are, for lack of a better word, dumb on insanity. eahts the point of leveling up if what im leveling up does absolutely nothing. hopefully bioware *fixes* difficulty settings for ME2 instead of adding on a layer of "poop" thats allows your awesomely powered adept to become a SMG spammer. thats the adept in a nut shell, SMG spammer or singularity/warp spammer. every class on insanity that isnt a soldier, is essentially just a gimped soldier.
bioware ****ed up.

I'm pretty sure Soldier is just a gimped Sentinel.

If all you want to do is to simply set off warp bombs for 30 hours. Warp explosions are fun and all, but they'd get old pretty damn quickly constantly doing them over and over again for a game as long as ME2.
And getting around shooting by bringing the right team mates isn't exactly fixing the problem. Why do you think team mates like Jack are regarded as being as useful as a chocolate fireguard?
Again, Adepts rock very well without shooting!! You just have to know how to play them, and what teammates to take.
So what do you suggest I do with defences when I'd like to engage in a bit of telekinesis without shooting? Am I to simply will the defences out of existence, perhaps? Pretend that my Throw punted an enemy off a cliff when all it actually did was stagger him a bit?
The old chestnut of 'everything's fine, l2p' got old back when 4chan got into full swing. No amount of positive thinking is going to change the fact that telekinesis doesn't happen with defences up... and given that's supposed to be a cornerstone of the Adept, it's a bit pointless.

Just because you don't use the powers to the full measure doesn't mean everyone doesn't. I punted a whole bunch off cliffs, dropped them over falls to die, exploded a good many, and generally had a blast. Only a few areas did I say , "OH, CRAP, I NEED A GUN!!"
If you want to talk about one power trick pony then look at the Soldier, Vanguard, Infiltrator, and the Sentinel, by and large all are just one basic idea, pop their class power and start shooting, and MAYBE throw in a odd bonus talent or other secondary power.

Of the three classes, my favorite biotic user in ME1 haas always been the sentinel. In me2, I think Sentinels retained the most of their original flavor. Adepts got massively nerfed, and Vanguards are a comletely different class altogether, though quite fun. They suffer the same problem as adepts though, you have to peel away their defenses before charging.

How many Maws are in the game? Like 5? Killing Geth Colossus on foot is no problem without Stasis. I found Nemesis Lift to be far superior to Bastion Lift. Most of the fights in the game take place in small rooms/corridors/whatever, Lift is more useful there. I had many Adepts in ME1 and none was as much fun as Nemesis Adept for me.
