Still, what is the point? Certainly, such video can be made, but it will be slow, boring and ineffective. Adepts have weapons for a reason and on at least 3 out of 5 difficulty settings you do not have to shoot at all and still be very effective.

There is no damned point. He's complaining about shooting in a game that the devs clearly went out of their way to make MORE of a shooter than the original and holding devs to comments that are based around a difficulty he refuses to play on. I just wanted to make the video to be a dick.

As we've already mentioned early in the thread, it doesn't take but ONE enemy losing defenses to make any mission a joke with maxed singularity. Singularity holds, one enemy loses defenses, said enemy is now a warp explosion, all enemies caught in the blast no longer have defenses, they are all now your plaything. If you are competent about what people to bring along on missions then you really don't have to fire a shot. Not that it matters though, as not firing would be stupid.

Actually you can do 4 out of 5 levels for sure, as I have done hardcore except for the 2 spots listed that wouldn't respond to powers and Had to have guns usage.  But other than Overlord one spot and Zaeed fuel tanks you don't have to shoot if you play the adept right.  I did it Hardcore.  Some parts were very boring, but when I started my next adept, I found it made my play even better, which is good, since it is Insanity, and for the most part I am shooting very little.  It is funny, I was playing my new Insanity adept after the no shoot adept hardcore and I was having to force myself to use the guns rather than just wait on powers.

Sorry, I don't make videos of my play, but I know it can be done, which is enough for me right now.  Maybe someday I will get around to making videos.

I think it was this thread that had some Adept users that played insanity without firing a shot(or very few), if so, do you guys have any uploaded vids of how you did it? I started insanity and did mordin's then Kasumi's missions, I think it's literally impossible to not shoot.

No guns for negroes has been designated by youtube as a good video for the suggestions page at the end of this vid, lol.

This went about the way I expected it to. Had I been able to unload some SMG shots in between cool downs the level would have gone MUCH quicker. Can't tell you the number of times there was a guy running around with a bit of shield left right next to a singularity that I couldn't force inside cause everyone was on cool down. I could probably make better use of pull in that situation to finish getting rid of the shield but it's not a way I'm used to playing.

Nice lol, you beat me Sinosleep, I just finished practice run an hour ago, I used Heavy Barrier to do some meleeing when on cooldown, just to have something to do. I think its quite the achivement you completed the entire mission without accidently pressing the fire button.
Well done :)

[edit] I use kasumi instead of Garrus. Flashbang Grenades are nice CC equipment and she has Overload too.

My adepts fired very few shots.  I was actually trying to see how few clips I would need to use.  I wasn't one of the elite gamers though that made it through the whole way without shooting.  Charging Varren, Husks, and Fenris pretty much took care of that for me :)

IIRC on kasumi's mission Energy Drain, Warp, and Singularity took care of most things.  My only problem is when Singularity would fling a guy BEHIND my cover.   Then I'd have to pray I could pull him or do something before he got up and shot me in the head :)

It was very hard to stop myself from shooting cause everytime a guy came too close for comfort or was sitting outside a singularity with a sliver of shield I wanted to just empty an smg clip into him. Not shooting did force me to go with a combination of powers I don't normally use that I'll probably use more often now.

I've always viewed singularity and pull as kind of redundant so I rarely use them in concert but with the need for extra CC due to longer battles I decided to add it to the arsenal. Pull has a short enough cool down and singularity has a long enough duration where you can kind of play the powers off each other like lift and singularity in ME 1 once you get the cool down upgrades.

I know what you mean. I started to understand the usefulness of all biotic powers after I did a couple of Adept solo runs. When everybody is shooting at Shep, you have to rely on powers and CC to make it through. SIngularity is incredibly versatile; Pull is great; and I love throwing enemies around - regular kills just by smashing them against obstacles; I only use Warp to detonate enemies like you did it your vid.

Give the Adept some firepower; and you can use weapons and biotic powers in concert and be very effective - I love this class!

Crouch would have helped to avoid unnecessary health damage. To bad they took it out.

I have found doing challenges like this will make you a better player.  It will also help you appreciate your companions strengths and weaknesses more as well.    I did my non-shooting play through for two reasons, one was someone mentioned it as a challenge and the other was to make Hard Core harder before I moved up to Insanity Adepts.  I have found it greatly improved my use of powers and companions for all plays.

Spot on. Like I said earlier, if it wasn't for the longer lasting battles due to not shooting I would still be spamming singularity and ignoring pull on my adpets (I've always liked pull on my vanguards) but now I know better. For whatever reason I never realized just how long a singularity will remain in play.

Post questions about biotics here.  I've been messaging Mrs. Norman and she said to post them there and she would take a look and answer what she could.

So I wasn't going to do this but decided it'd be worth it for comparison's sake. Here is Tali's loyalty mission, but actually using the smg. Watch the 720p version as the others are still processing and look like garbage

Now other than being 2 minutes faster is that really all that different than the no shooting vids in regards to PLAY STYLE? I certainly don't think so. Singularity pull and warp still dominate the battlefield, the gun is there simply to speed up the process of getting there. I really don't think an inordinate amount of shooting was required to speed play along which is why I don't understand why so many people take issue with it.

There are some poeple who either don't know how to use the adept properly at insanity level, or they heard it couldn't be done without shooting so they just whine about it.  Adepts can use just powers to play the game, and if played right they will still use a majority of powers in the game, even on insanity level.  A well built and played Adept is a force to behold, when you add bonus powers they are almost unstoppable.  There are also one or two people upset because they can't play the adept like they did in ME1, even though a fully leveled adept had several "I win" buttons to the point of making the game a cakewalk, and joke to play as a "shooter".
