 Hi, 
So, Mass Effect 2 has been out for a little over 6 months now. and i was just wondering how many time this rabid fan base has beaten it. so i though lets make a thread about it.

So far i've finished it 7 times.
2x on xbox (1 hard, 1 insanity)
5x on PC (3 on insanity 1 on hard and one on super duper easy)
currently i'm doing another run on insanity as an infiltrator (my first time)

Yes i own the game for both platforms. and i also have all the DLC

so tell me forum, how many times?

20+. Haven't done Insanity yet because I dislike games that increase the difficulty by just making your weapons and armor ineffective. More fun to play on lower difficulties and increase the difficulty by deliberately doing stupid stunts you're not supposed to.

3 times. First time on normal, second and third on insanity. I could do it a fourth time if Bioware gives us new armors. Because I don't like the armors of the game (especially the helmets) except the default N7. We should have more closed helmets.

ME1: 22 Playthroughs

ME2: 5 Playthroughs

ME1: Easily more than 30 full runs, a few of them on Insanity, and about 10 incomplete/failed runs.



ME2: About10 runs total, most with my ME1 chars, some with recycled new game plus chars, 2 on Insanity, and counting.



I know I **** and moan a lot about ME2 but the series as a whole is one of this generation's best, absolutely no question.

Mass Effect 2: 1 time on normal, 2 times insanity

I'm playing my fourth time on insanity as an Engineer (Mechanic) right now, trying out a new playstyle: Staying back and supporting your Squadmates as good as possible. Works well with Grunt and Zaeed/ Any Sniper.

ME1: 28 playthroghs... 25 of them with the same exact Soldier lol I know Iw as addicted for some reason

1 normal, 1 veteran 2 hardcore, the other 24 on Insanity.



ME2.... no more than 8.... ME2 didn't captivate me like ME1 did. On top of many questionable practices the developer company employs lessened my taste for it.



1 Normal.

1 Veteran.

1 harcore

1 insane.....



the rest have been either veteran or hardcore, depends.

I played ME at least 30 times in two years.



I am doing my 12 playthrough in ME2.

ME1: About four or five times on normal and hardcore. The combat was meh, and after the first two plays the Mako and side-missions became more of a chore than anything else.



ME2: 10-11 times, all Insanity, half with a Vanguard and half with an Engineer. Working on yet another Vanguard run. I just find the combat more interesting than that of ME1.... I guess the ammo limit challenges me more.

ME1: 20-30 playthroughs all on various difficulties
ME2: 10-12 playthroughs about 2-3 on normal 1 on insanity and the rest hardcore

currently have two unfinished playthroughs one on each game.

WTF is wrong with you guys? 20 playthroughs? 30 playthroughs?



I'm a megafan of the game and I've only played ME1 three times (on my fourth run to snap up achievements). The fact that some of you play so many times boggles my mind. I'm tempted to think that at least some of you are lying.

ME1- 7 times (4 with the same character), about to finish up my eighth playthrough (romancing Liara). I played my perfect Insanity playthrough (also for the achievement) to carry over to ME2 in case their was a bonus for doing so only to figure out I pressed B at the option menu, not A, and it was still on Hardcore. So one of those playthroughs was a pure Insanity speed-run. Also two were just renegade achievement, ally achievements, and abilities achievements.

ME2- 12 times, I leave most right at the point before going on the IFF mission but I count them complete because I want to wait for all dlc released before finishing the main quest on these chars. I mean the way you can treat Cerberus after the end mission (spoilers?) really doesn't go well with some of the missions you can do in DLC (Overlord). It just doesn't fit.

I very much play games for the story, and I'm one of those gaming snobs that never quite get captivated by games unless the story is really, really good.

I managed to finish ME1 four times. I think they were all on normal, but hey, I didn't really play it for the challenge of the somewhat dodgy gameplay.

As for ME2, one and a half times. Suffice to say, the story elements were very much lacking the second time 'round.

Some games are just addictive.

Can you believe I passed Prince of Persia Warior within 21 times.... over and over... I mean there is nothing to do there, no choices or anything, but for some reason it just kept my hooked.

Somewhere around 30 on ME1.

!6 kept saves in ME2 right now.

Not sure how many saves i have deleted just to keep tracking easier.

Difficulty levels vary, but insanity on 1 is sort of a "let's stand in each others face and hold the fire button down until something gives." Not a challenge with proper armor and weapons. 2 is a little more reliant about keeping your head down.
