ME1: 3 times (all on normal)
ME2: 2 times (1 normal, 1 insanity)
I'm satisfied with the outcome of the insanity run though, everyone survived, stayed loyal to Ash, will get lots of minerals before ME3 comes out so i'll be rich, and i had full paragon and 20% renegade. Damn fine transfer file.

ME2- Best guess is 20, maybe a little more, maybe a little less. Right now, I'm on my third playthrough with one of my Shepards, so it might be even higher than I think.
Even if I put it at twelve hours a playthrough(a conservative estimate), I have sunk almost a solid month of playing time between these two games and I'm just as addicted now as I was when I first played the Original ME.
God, I need a life.

ME1- At least 30, probably more. I have 10 complete playthroughs, all on level 60. Each Shepard has a different background/service history combination, and one is a double(my Earthborn/Sole survivor, who a play on both genders since his/her LI is Liara). I don't do complete playthroughs, I do speed runs, where I complete the whole story within 7 hours. But I go through these runs several times with each chracter. After some research, I determined what sidquests and missions had any effect in ME2, and I only did those.

We have a saying here in Brazil: "All unanimity is dumb"
Just because we like the game doesn't mean he's perfect.
I have a lot of complains about ME2 too, but I like the game.
Played 20 times ME1, but had a hard drive crash and loose all my saves, then I did only more 6 times until ME2 was launched.
My current count in ME2 is 30, most played on hardcore, I've found insanity boring and playstyle restricting.

WTF is wrong with you guys? 20 playthroughs? 30 playthroughs?
I'm a megafan of the game and I've only played ME1 three times (on my fourth run to snap up achievements). The fact that some of you play so many times boggles my mind. I'm tempted to think that at least some of you are lying.
believe what you will dude because these 2 particular games keep me from chain smoking and keep me from being bored. i cant stand gears of war or halo because im not a big over the top shooter fan. ff13 wasnt that great either when it comes to rpgs. truthfully im not even a sports fan and what really blows hard is the good games dont come out till next year like the new original mortal kombat and marvel vs capcome 3, dead space and mass effect are really the only 2 forms of shooters i play

for me only the warrior within made me replay it endless times... I have no idea why, I can't point to one thing that can make its replay value so high.....
Maybe I am a suck up for time traveling stories... as long as they are good ones. Cyclical stories are almost my favorite, way up there with bitter sweet endings
That reminds me..... the chill I got in ME1 when I first talked to Soverign and realized wth was it... felt awfally familiar to the feeling I got at the end of Timeshift... when I realized the dude that stopped the explosion was actually me.... I know they aren't similar but just the realization factor....was.. wow....
Same way in Warrior within, when I realized that bastard who was throwing axes at me, following me... and moving so damn familiar was actually me... helping me!! lol sigh, where did those good old games went too... such nice stories... so rich, graphics were good,, but story and gameplay was the main focus.... sigh so nice so nice.
Hopefully more games in the future will have the "sandwraight/soverign is a reaper/guy who stopped the explosion was me traveling through time" moments of epic eye opening moments
PS: Kayleena was just too damn hot... there I admit it lol

Well, since ME2 is all about the squad...
Try play the game without Kasumi and/or Zaeed and sell Legion, for example.
Or erasing your profile (so the 25% more XP don't count) and play again with Zaeed and Kasumi.
You have to plan a lot of things in advance.
But yeah, customization of everything (not only armors) could be a lot better.
BTW, did you know that most magazines and web sites here labeled ME2 "FPS with rpg elements", regarding the genre of the game?
I've found it hilarious...

I didn't found the FPS with rpg elements hilarous... I found it... sad
Still, there just ins;t the drive there.
I passed ME1 24 times over and over with the same dam character, with every option I could possible imagine.
With ME2 it just isn't there.... duno, the spark isn't there lol
The ability to get armors, and more weapons than just 3 -4 per class, really was the deal breaker for me...
I know know to get the demo of ME3 before preordering it.
But... my frustrations need not bother me for long.... for when reach arrives, everything will be forgotten, and heaven I shall see decending upon me.... unless it rurns out like Halo 2 then I will just flip out, and quite 360 for a while lol

I know what you mean, I was expecting a much different game.
What I miss the most is the freedom of choice you have in ME1, ME2 is too restrict on this.

My brother buyed Starcraft 2 some days ago and it comes with a "Guest Pass", so you can borrow the game for a friend for fourtheen days, don't need to own it the disc media and can be played for 7 hours in total.
I've found it simply astonishing and planned to buy it.
I'm not a big fan of the original Starcraft, I like it, but not a lot.
The story was really good, I loved the Zerg Kerrigan, but I'm not crazy about the series.
But this sequence really catch me, it's very good.

Empire at War reminds me a lot Emperor: Battle for Dune.
This also reminds me that every studio EA buys it launch a sequence of a worthy predecessor and then EA sink the mentioned studio in the gutter.
Oh well, I hope that's not the case, fingers crossed!
But if they lauch it and start to charge for new units, I'm done.
Do you hear Bioware, I'm done!

ME2: On run number four right now...got to stop loving it so much, as in a couple weeks I won't have much if any time for video games anymore. No game makes me want to go back and replay it the instant I finish it like ME2.
