Here's my issue: My game was working fine with my DLC's and unpatched version, even though I couldn't play some of them. I flipped through the downloadable content tab in the main menu (just curious, I guess) and noticed that some downloaded content didn't work, so I decided to search and download the latest "patch" 1.04. It's a nightmare.

1.04 is causing me so many issues its not funny - It made all of the enemies invincible, I can't hit or kill them in any way, and reinstalling doesn't work - I've reinstalled the game several times now, and once I patch the game, I have the same issue.

But now, unless I patch the game, it states I require the Awakening Expansion, although I clearly have it already installed.

Even so, when I have the game patched, which is causing a LOT of issues, it states I require the 1.04 patch for the DCL's STILL.

Now, even with the game freshly installed and unpatched, I cannot play the game without having all of the enemies being invincible.

Bioware, I am deeply disappointed and starting to loathe you with a passion that only rivals that of Activision, step up Bioware and fix your own game!

Regardless, please help me if you can, thanks in advance!

Because I had lost my disc, I had to use a crack, and as it turns out that crack wasn't downloaded fully and caused missing textures etc and other wierd stuff (invincible creeps, corrupted loads, unrecognized expansion/authorization).

Redownloading/reapplying that patch on a freshly installed game fixed all of my issues.

Note: I haven't applied patch yet.............

The only thing I can think of is to uninstall any mods you may have and see if that helps. If you don't have any mods, then not sure what the problem is.

no mods, and I'm as clueless as you are.

I'm trying, again (x19), to fix it by reinstalling - this time I won't patch and won't keep the saves (QQ)

Hrm... Can you save your existing Bioware profile folder (Documents\\Bioware), and then reinstall both games and leave off patch 1.04? Just plunk your saved Bioware folder back into Documents and fire up the game. That is, of course, assuming you have all your DLC installed. Hopefully you won't have to reauthorize, so long as the Dragon Age Content Updater service is running. I didn't when my old HDD crashed a couple of months ago. I don't think I even had to log in to authorize anything. I'd personally hold off on installing 1.04.

Here's another issue: I can't create another character! When I get to the stats screen, when I attempt to add an attribute, it takes off the "available" points but doesn't add to the base value, and because on the next screen I cannot select a skill, it doesn't allow me to continue, thus no new game.

Also, the icons (like faces etc) don't work anymore - I have latest drivers and DirectX.

Btw, thanks for your reply : )

Is this on a fresh install? What version of Windows are you running?

You played with a crack and you complain because the game does not behave as expected? D'ho!

Discussing ways to get your cracked copy of Dragon Age: Origins working properly is not permissible here. Do not ask about this again. Thank you.
