Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR)

We had a single copy of this game that got passed around the office. Each person in turn would recieve the game and then call in sick the next couple of days. We called it "KOTOR's Disease".

I have fond memories of Wizardry on the Apple ][, Bard's Tale on the Amiga, Eye of the Beholder on the Atari ST, and Fallout 2 on the PC.

Yep, I've been gaming for a loooong time.

Neverwinter Nights 2 was also excellent. Final Fantasy VII was a high point as well.

I really appreciate DA:O because it is a reminder that the old-school computer RPG genre isn't dead yet. Not everything has to be MMO or FPS or POS or whatever.

Sometimes you just want to boot up, kill some orcs, and get the gold!

I will not rate DAO until I finish it. I don't have a clear favorite, these are my favs:

bg, planescape: torment, fallout, kotor, mass effect, the witcher

My favourite JRPG was chono trigger on SNES.

And I played a lot of NWN online :)

LOL, not sure if you are kidding but Planescape:Torment was made by BIS(black isle studios), main writer was avellone, one of the several founding members behind Obsidian. As for the license... ehh, not sure who even owns it. Besides, didn't the setting die with "AD&D"???? Along with Dark Sun... ahh dark sun, you are sooo depressing... you too ravenloft...

Final Fantasy III(VI) for the Snes is my all time favorite game. I rented it during the summer, played it all day every day for a week. Then after I returned it I couldn't help wanting to play it all again and scrapped together the $80 to buy it. (yeah, that's right, games used to cost $80 and that's early 90's money. yay cartridges). That game has so many memorable moments (the opera, waking up on the island etc.) and the MUSIC! Just the best. KOTOR is way up there for me too. Seriously, RPG fans are blessed because we have so many great games to play and can enjoy the classics. I don't think any other genre so consistantly gives the same value playing time for $ ratio. (no, COD does not count as it's own genre)

FF 6 was 100 in canaduh.
best 100 i ever spent on a game lol
