(The following is a sample of lore that will be unveiled more fully in the campaign)

*Four shadowy figures separate and take position around a clearing into which a large force of Tevinter warriors lead by two powerful Tevinter Magisters. As the Tevinters moved closer, the four whispered a prayer to the Maker and raised their left hands. Two of them bore massive staves and the other two bore jewel-encrusted longswords; all wore heavy armor with full helmets and gloves. As the Magisters closed in on the center of the clearing, the armor of each shadowy figure began to glow with an intense light that drew the attention of the Tevinters. A rumbling noise was heard, then the four charged headlong into the fray, swinging weapons wildly.*


Secrets of the Tevinter Warden will be a mini-campaign within
the Dragon Age: Origins campaign; it is currently a work in
progress that is part of my Tevinter Warden class mod. It will
add 4 new companions (all will be Tevinter Wardens, complete
with the class' specializations) with personal quests of about
1 hour each that lead into the main quest, which will be
similar in length the Urn of Sacred Ashes quest. Each
companion will be located in a location you have to visit
during the course of the game; the locations are listed in
topics in my class project page here.

I will be looking for Voice Actors for the companions, as well as other NPCs in the story; Willam and Lanna, at least in my mind, sound alike, so one VA for them both, one each for Marric and Martin and one for Lealion (she's still separate, but I'm including her in the VA call anyway).

Yes; I'm wanting them to fit in almost as transparently as Ser Gilmore does, but I probably won't go to the level of choices as far as romance paths goes. I've started on several of the areas that will be added to the game; at least two of them will look vaguely familiar to people, but with some startling differences.

I will be releasing this module as a series; Act One will contain the companion Martin the Devastator and will lead to the discovery of one of a number of potent Tevinter Warden artifacts. The other modules will introduce the other three companions and lead to similar powerful artifacts; once all four artifacts have been discovered, the main plot of the series will begin, which will lead to a discovery that rivals the Urn of Sacred Ashes itself.

Thanks guys. I may be able provide a few screenshots soon; I need to get Martin to spawn properly before I can get any of him, and I want to get some of the areas made and populated before I show them off.

All right; some progress to report. I've had to scrap the spawn scripts for Martin, Marric and Willam, as they have been working sporadically or not at all. They will be found in a new town on the World Map called Riverton which is somewhat north of the Brecillian Forest. This town is based on an area created for the Community Contest (I'll give credit to the area creator as soon as I remember which one it is).

I've posted a preliminary version of this with my Tevinter Warden mod on DA Nexus; the areas make it around 100MB, and I don't yet want to have to split it just to be able to upload it here as well.

Version 3 posted on DANexus; fixed an issue where the dazip file couldn't be installed using DAUpdater. I don't know if it could be installed with DAModder or DA Mod Manager, as I only use those for specific functionality that they contain that DAUpdater doesn't have.



Known issues:



The companions don't all have working autolevelup packages, so leaving Martin and Marric in camp is suggested for now; Lanna and Willam seem to be all right for combat.



They don't currently have their final head morphs, so they are using in game head morphs. Suggestions welcome for them.

Do you mean current they are only working in combat while the plots, romance and personal quest isn't ready yet?

That's correct; that's the problem with trying to work on a mod of this scope by yourself. Real Life tends to interfere with modding and slow down what you want to accomplish.

I'll do that; I'm sure Questorion can spare your skills for long enough to do a few face morphs for me. :) It will probably be later today before I can do that, though.

hmm...I'm thinking about...if the class is originated from Teveinter Imperium, will it be more lore-friendly if the class has its own origin?

The thought has crossed my mind from time to time, but other than Mages, do other classes have a special origin of their own? I still have a few kinks to work out of the class, mainly one or two spells, and proper class ability distribution based on Origin (they currently get the Mage version of one of their class abilities, instead of the Tevinter Warden one).

Have you fixed the issues with mods using custom backgrounds? By for instance limiting the TW class only to the main campaign.

The wiki's Background/Origin Tutorial isn't really correct; it assumes that the end user will have no class mods installed. It really should leave the 5 default Origins backgrounds and Awakening Backround unused and add any new backgrounds starting from row id 7. Module makers should also be working together to ensure that their modules are using the Module Priority property to minimize interference; my four Tevinter Warden modules (I have one each for Origins, Awakening, Golems of Amgarrak and Witch Hunt) use this to ensure that they function properly and don't override each other.

Secrets of the Tevinter Wardens Project I've started posting screenshots of the new characters I've added; Starlight is working on the head morphs and I've seen the preliminary versions and have made suggestions for changes to them. I'm also working with the DT:CoM team for compatibility and dialog work for the characters in that mod. I've also made the char_stage (party picker screen) that is shared between most of the currently maintained custom companion mods.
