Why Teyrn Loghain is the deepest character in Dragon Age

The chances of Loghain, a warden, meeting up with the Empress are slim though. Unless he goes psycho and wants to murder her in her sleep.

Celene takes the throne at seventeen around a decade after the Calling so she's roughly a decade older than Cailan is.Was Celene around when Orlais occupied Ferelden? In my head, Celene is about as old as Cailan, which would mean she was born after Ferelden gained its freedom or she was very young when that happened.

Nice work, Addai...keep it up.
Oh and I don't mind Jowan. I'd much rather have him in party than "golden glorious Wynne".

Cailan's supposed to be around 25, I think. So mid-thirties would be about right.

Egads, YES. Wynne poking into my relationships REALLY annoys me. I love how Loghain shuts her up at Ostagar. But having Jowan & Loghain in the same party.......OOOOOOOOOOH, banter!

How recognizable do you think Loghain is in Ferelden?
Now, obviously, practically everyone knows his name being that he’s a national hero. And obviously he’s known in Gwaren having been the teryn there. And most folks have probably seen him around Denerim. And, logically, banns and other such nobles who’d be present at Landsmeets.
But what about just the average, every day Fereldan man or woman? If, for example, your Warden recruits Loghain and, while on the road to defeating the Blight, your posse stops into a random tavern in some no-name town, would folks immediately recognize Loghain or not? I’m completely mixed on this, given such fantasy settings don’t have televisions and gossip magazines and the like… probably, at best, books with some sketches/illustrations of the Fereldan War of Independence and its key players. So, on the one hand, I could see Loghain keeping a low profile because, really, how many common folk have actually seen him in person, up close? On the other hand, I can also easily see the place coming to a complete standstill as soon as he and the Warden walked in (of course, that could also be because the world’s weirdest-looking, armed and armored group just walked in as well
Thoughts?

What did GaxKang say? Some people in high places have their eyes on us?
@ Dragon.
Good question. Like Sarah said, there are potraits of him, but we never see them in-game.
I think what should be recognised about Loghain the most is his armor. In its description, it is said to be a symbol of Ferelden's fight for independence.

Off the current topic but I realized after their second meeting that Loghain didn't bat an eye at my CE's choice of armor, which has the Orlesian royal seal embossed on it (Shadow of the Empire). I know that the DA:O creators couldn't possibly think of *every* eventuality and write dialogue options accordingly, but since they went out of their way to create the armor with those characteristics, you'd think that some notice would be paid.

Or you dressing up like a chevalier.
Or like Cailan.
Or naked as many seem to enjoy.

I'm constantly amused that everyone seems to recognize the Warden on sight. Especially for Origins like the DC and Mage where the Warden has been isolated from the surface public for most or all of their lives so there's really not even a remote possibility that pictures exist of them (as there must be of Loghain). Is there some sort of Ferelden social network we don't know about?
That's probably from the "Wanted" posters that are up around Ferelden. There's a bounty on your head, you know. I'm still rather curious about how much Loghain was offering for someone to bring my meddling booty in to him. lol
I think Sergeant Kylon mentions something, when you first meet him in Denerim, that he recognizes you from the "Wanted" posters (and says the drawing doesn't do you justice - though he may only say that to a female Warden) that are floating around.
@KoP - thanks! Trust me, the question is totally selfish in nature.
EDIT: follow-up question... great point about his armor being terribly unique and recognizable! But what if, perhaps, they entered in more normal attire... be it plain clothes or whatnot... he still has a rather distinctive look, doesn't he? Warden may have to throw a bag over his head!

Yeah, I remember that conversation too --you think Loghain sits down and describes you to a sketch artist? He'd be the only one alive from Ostagar who got a good look at you. Sounds like either the sketch artist isn't very good, or else Loghain's memory of the Warden's appearance isn't very flattering

Just because they're not mentioned in-game doesn't mean they aren't there.

I'm thinking the sketch artist isn't good, since he thought Kallian was "pretty for a Grey Warden". lol
@Monica - good point, too! Hmmm, potential plot bunnies are starting to bounce around... c'mon 5:30, hurry up and get here so I can go home!

Ser Cauthrien's Wiki entry says that she didn't find out until *after* saving him from bandits, that the man she had rescued was the hero Loghain Mac Tir. . .just food for thought. . .

Maybe he didn't travel with his armor and shield.
Or maybe he had a big cloak.
Actually all of this is weird. How can Loghain be ambushed by bandits? Doesn't he have guards?

I don't think it's OOC for him to sneak away from them and that would explain the lack of distinctive armor and perhaps the disguise.KnightofPhoenix wrote...

That always made me raise the eyebrow as well. <_<
