I was under the impression he had used City Elves for the Night Elves in the Stolen Throne?
Huh, I completely thought they were Dalish elves, but looking in the book again... nope, they appear to be City Elves after all.

They were already in the rebellion and had some experience. The city elves in Origins on the otherhand were not, hence why he probably thought they would be mroe useful as slaves.

This is how the Night Elves are introduced in the book:
It was Loghain who led the first small groups of archers out under cover of darkness. Elves naturally saw better in darkness than men, so he recruited those few that marched with the rebels as runners and camp followers to join his group. Though surprised by their sudden elevation, they quickly stepped up to the challenge. Within weeks they had racked up an impressive body count, enough so the enemy began to fear the appearance of the "night elves" in their camps. It was a name Loghain took for his gropu as a badge of courage.

My interpretation of Loghain's comments during the Landsmeet in regards to selling the elves - aside from the fact he needed money - I think he believed the elves would be better off as slaves elsewhere rather than being left at the mercy of the horde because of the Alienage's indefensibility.
This seems to be supported if the Warden chooses to go find the generals in the Alienage as they had no defenses and are only able to get to safety because the Warden intercedes.
I hate to post and run but I'm at work and peeking in on this thread as opportunity permits

I loved that she chewed out Arl Eamon. God but I wanted to do that in game so very much.

Yeah, I'm not really thinking "ooo, deepest character in Dragon Age" when I see that. *ahem*phaonica wrote...
Yay. Thanks everybody. If I find myself stumbling over something, I may have to come back and ask again. Until then, squee interruption!

Thank you. I've been wanting to do that too. After saving Redcliffe, his family and himself, he sure presumed an awful lot. And his treatment of Alistair just sickened me.

Thinking of a different kind of "deep", eh?
Okay, family board, I really shouldn't follow that train of thought... naughty, naughty!

*feigns shock* I never!
So, has this turned into a squee thread for chicks and dudes? The dudes squeeing in an entirely different manner of course.

When did you send it? If it was after 7am EST today, then I haven't because I'm technically at work and being bad and posting, but cannot access my Yahoo mail here. So, I'll probably get that tonight.
Glad to hear! I actually have Chapters 3 & 4 (rough draft) done now (trying to build up a headstart so I can post them up semi-regularly once it launches), so I'll send your way. Phaonica's given me some GREAT feedback, so once I look over yours as well, I should tidy up Chapter 1 tomorrow night, re-send to both of you, and hopefully let the Tabris/Loghain fanfic out into the world sometime this weekend or shortly after.

Incidentally, does anyone know how to delete old profile pics? I seem to have a few of characters I abandonned or deleted cluttering up my profile.

I know, but I'm wondering if the dudes have officially decided that Loghain fan art isn't really supportable.DragonRacer13 wrote...

So, in that vein, and something I've been musing on recently, is that Fereldens have the shortest memories of any occupied country ever. The French and the British aren't going to invade each other anytime soon but they still have sort of a "yeah, whatever" quality to their relationship. Ask anyone born in the former Confederates states what they think of General Sherman, and you won't get kind words. So why is Loghain the only (rightfully) worried SOB in the entire game?

Also a chick. I just prefer playing guys for various reasons (and well, there's no happy ending to the Alistair romance if you're a Loggy fan, so might as well play a bloke and get the best father in law ever instead).

Can't help you there, unfortunately.
My profile pic is generic because I, in my infinite un-wisdom, started this forum account using a different email address than the one linked to my PS3 account of the same username. And apparently it's impossible to change the email address I used to sign up here, so no account picture posting for my Wardens (who are a good mix of chicks and dudes).
So, uh, I guess everyone just pretend my profile pic is a female tiger Warden with a rather bizarre jerkin?

You can go to the Manage Characters button in upper left and then delete whichever characters you want.CalJones wrote...
